There’s also the hand operated clutch paddle. Not sure if it is still a two-stage system, I’m pretty sure it’s only a single clutch paddle.

Right.  And we have no idea what, if anything, will be shared with this brand new car.  The drivetrain is definitely more expensive if it is a TT V8 coupled with a DCT.

Yeaaaah, that’s hopeful.  But again, I would love to be proved wrong.

Not one than can compete with a Corvette. 

Nowhere did I say it would cost as much as a 911, NSX, etc yet it will be fighting with those ‘segments’. We also don’t know how many of them they will be cranking out so it’s hard to apply logic there. I believe, in typical Corvette fashion, it will outperform those cars while coming in slightly cheaper.

I didn’t say they would be charging 100k? But if they’re charging 100k+ for C7 Z06s and 140k+ for ZR1s, they can and will charge more than the reported “60-70k” for the new car. And if I’m wrong, I’ll gladly buy one.  

Moreso that this will be an unconventional design, especially for GM and the Corvette. I’m saying if the next one was front-engined, we wouldn’t be having this conversation because we would expect it to come in at the same price. There’s no way in hell this revolutionary model is going to be come in at the same price…

Almost everything about the car is going to be all new so that comes with costs. What you’re saying you think this new C8 will be a Cayman fighter and not a 911 fighter? No.  It’s going upmarket, not downmarket so it won’t be that cheap.

I'm still thinking way too cheap. A MR powerhouse for under 70k? Too good to be true. 

Just do it! Someone can only take away your enjoyment if you let them. I always suggest hiking. You can do it alone or with others, combines easily with other interests, exercise is healthy, so on and so forth. There are things out there you enjoy, they just might be buried at the moment.

200k is the new 100k.  Aka the people that didn’t give up their cars for cash4clunkers.
