Leveling is an archaic mechanic at this point imo. I feel like the next major step in MMO design will be removing levels and implementing alternate advancement options. Like you gain skills over time by training with weapons or spells, but they are all on their own independent advancement lines, instead of being tied

The game still has quite a few players, and they just recently released in China. I assume the new gem shop was for their new asian players, as I think the NA and EU markets are saturated at this point.

I'm actually ok with games shipping with bugs, as long as they are addressed with day-one, day-two, day-x patches. I actually see this as a benefit of modern gaming culture. Because without the flexibility of the day-one patch, every game would be delayed 6-12 months for additional testing.

Seems like everyone's replies are confirming what Monolith has said - The only real way to "kill" and orc is to remove their head. Either through domination and explosion, or through decapitation. Most of the time with a domination though, the head will not actually explode. Talian will go through the animation of

I think that happens when you intervene in a conflict between 2 unique orcs. If one of the orcs dies, then it is assumed he was murdered by the orc he was fighting with.

For some reason, Digital Foundry's background music always reminds me of the music from a 3DO game I had as a child called "Guardian War". Shit was epic.

I'd love to see a competitive multiplayer game with a combat system similar to these. I don't think it's been done yet, and I think the intricacies of trading counters with another player would be pretty entertaining. Somewhat reminiscent of a wrestling game, but with more action and flourish.

I never really understood this argument about defending corporations that don't care about you...From my experience, the fanboys are rarely defending the company, they are defending themselves. They are defending their own judgement and decisions to buy products from that company.

Are the spec increases because of the graphical upgrade coming with the new expansion? Like, have the specs been gradually increasing ever since 2004, or did they just ramp up quickly because of Draenor? Because I don't see why specs would need to increase (other than hard drive space) when they've been running on a

This exactly...I feel cheated now that I bought the Xbox One version for pre-order. If I had known about this, I would have bought the 360 version, and redeemed the upgrade immediately to have both versions of the game for the price of one. That way my wife could play on the 360 in our bedroom, while I play on the

How does this work for the 360? It says it only applies to digital versions of the game, but the 360 has no digital version available...

Screejunkies just posted this yesterday. Another testament to his magnificence.

It seems the main issue here is that Aero is rebroadcasting the channels with a subscription fee. If they were providing those channels for free through their service, I don't think the major networks could stop them...So maybe that's the solution for Aero, provide free service and makeup the revenue through some form

You peasant, I can't be bothered to read a mere 3 sentences....

but if everyone has the exact same universe without going to the cloud, then what that means is that the randomizer is always seeded the same, always generates the same stuff, etc.

I feel like the first 4 seasons have all just been the prologue for the real story - Arya killing all the things.

I guess it's still valid if you're a PC gamer...but then there's a bigger joke on you, because Destiny isn't even coming to PC.

So... Were all these fumbled design choices the fault of Don Mattrick? Because once he left the company and Phil Spencer took over, seems like he's cleaning up a lot of the messes.

30 FPS on PS4 as well...Too bad there is no PC release scheduled :(
