I have never heard that phrase before (had to google the rest of it) and now I LOVE IT.

Yeah for real. I’m not afraid of dying. But I won’t be bedridden in a shared hospital room for years. I won’t lose my memory but still hang on. I’ll take care of my own death before that happens.
Right it’s just a way for them to siphon off any saved wealth you might otherwise pass on to your kids. I like to joke that for retirement my husband and I are going to hold hands and jump off a cliff! Hahahahaha!
I’m going to make a plug here for PACE programs, which exist in medicaid expansion states. They are publicly funded programs that provide home caregivers and home nursing to seniors with the explicit goal of keeping them out of nursing homes, because even having one on one professional nursing care is still cheaper…
Yeah. For the doctors to be able to tell that she was multiparous, she would have had to had pregnancies that went pretty far, if not all the way full term. Were those late miscarriages/stillbirths? Second trimester abortions? Did those kids get born and sold, a la Georgia Tann?
Pregnant in the past and (?) gave birth in the past??? Where the fuck is the other baby(ies)?? This whole story is super horrifying, from the rape, to the facility negligence, to the fact that nobody visited her for at least the last 3 months before she gave birth. I just. I can’t even.
I’m thinking of a novel I read where abortion and IVF was outlawed. Pregnant women were immediately assigned a social worker who monitored their behavior, diet, nutrition and activity and women had to be afraid of being charged with murder if they miscarried.
Yeah, experience alone tells me Portman is overwhelmingly more likely to be telling the truth here. I’ve had a guy claim to have dated me when the closest we ever got was attending a few of the same events separately. That was weird. And I spent two fraught summers in college working on a landscaping crew where more…
Yeah, that pretty much sums it up. Making a note for my family so they never ever put me in a nursing home. Just give me a hug and let me go.
What.the.fuck
What’s next, are they going to try and use this language with miscarriages (“spontaneous abortion”) too?

My girlfriend has a name for those dudes. SNAGs. Sensitive New Age Guys. They’re always more outraged about someone eating a steak than women being sexually assaulted.
Moby was one of those artists I was embarrassed to listen to even though I liked a few of his songs. He seems like the guy to be all “I like yoga, wear glasses, am vegan and into transcendental meditation. I’m safe! Now fuck me.” Guys like him are just a creepy as the overly aggressive frat bros.
Ohhhhh nonono, come on now.
This will get buried in the greys, but whatever.
when Lana Del Rey is calling you out on being a rich WASP, you know you’ve fucked up
You asked so kindly, so sure.
