Really sick of this . And it doesn't matter what the facts of the case are because the church and the anti-choice lobby will twist it. After the Savita case, priests in Ireland told their congregations that an abortion couldn't have saved Savita's life and wouldn't have made a difference. Then some priests tried to

Better keep your head down, Beiber, before Obama deports your ass.

Damn. Now I want to know what kind of foundation he uses then.

I thought the Prince one was a wax statue, no?

Xenophobia is the belief that your own culture is superior. So if you're an American and you think that every other country in the world has to do things your culture's way regardless of their own individual circumstances, then you are being xenophobic. ;)

First, the American government is not going to allow you to name your child AdolfHitler666, so it's not like American naming policy is really the wide open free-for-all people here are pretending it is. America mostly restricts names that have characters that aren't in the Latin alphabet so it can fit with in its

Iceland requiring Feiyang to become Feiyang Steve is going to give little Feiyang the best chance at growing up in Iceland without having people tripping over their grammar trying to use her name in a sentence that makes sense.

But it's similar enough because the US government does force the child to give up Feiyang written in Chinese characters and translate it to Feiyang in Latin characters. The fact that you put the Feiyang into Latin characters instead of the Chinese characters while having a discussion in English illustrates how much

Fixed. lol. I need more coffee. ;)

Is America being xenophobic by requiring names on American birth certs and passports to be written in the Latin alphabet? Or is America simply being practical by picking a standardized system and sticking to it? And furthermore, Iceland in this situation isn't even outright prohibiting a non-Icelandic name. All the

Yes. And it's not exactly like the USA is going to let you put Chinese or Arabic characters down on your child's birth cert either.

Thank you!

Hey Roxane Gay. I was just wondering if Best Buy ever responded to your complaint about being racially profiled? In light of the fact that Barney's is apparently hiring consultants to deal with bad PR resulting from their own racial profiling of customers, what should these kinds of stores be doing to address this

The scenario is rape under the current definition of the law, but that doesn't stop people's defenses from trying to shame/blame the victim, does it? This bill will discourage those tactics since there will no longer be any benefit from trying to argue that she didn't say No.

All the other movies you guys are mentioning are great. But let's not forget that he was also the best Teddy Roosevelt. He was a better Teddy Roosevelt than real Teddy Roosevelt.

What is the aim of this particular troll(s)? Are they hoping for a specific outcome by posting all this stuff?

I'm so shocked I'm here floundering trying to find the place to click in order to report the photos and I can't find it.

Bumping this comment. That was quite a shock.

I don't think consent means "doing what you want and only stopping if s/he doesn't like it" and my comment didn't imply that either. My point is that some people will deliberately ignore nonverbal cues even when they're faced with someone who has completely shut down and is clearly not happy with the situation.

As it currently stands, it's "he said, she said" (or "he said, he said" or "she said, she said," etc). And it's probably going to remain that way unless people start signing waivers and having all their sex recorded by a neutral third party. BUT with Yes Means Yes, if you have a youtube video of two football players
