6 to 7 years in the making for a master piece is still very acceptable IMO. Now... for what it takes.

On that point I totally agree.
The intellectual property issue introduced by Facebook is awful.
In a way it’s a double penalty for developers wishing to produce great “regular” games and software but kinda forced to go with the flow and subsequently lose their IP because of that.
Did you know that a few dev out there must learn and use this technology because it’s “the new trend” and not because they like it or not ?
Indeed a lot of startup flourish and focus on VR, mainly because the lead imagine scenarios (that are actually very hard to achieve with the current technology) and easily get…
It kind of tell you how much optimization has to be done to get anything working smoothly on Oculus.
I’m glad I did not buy that cheap stuff.

I’m definitely not a climato-sceptic but when I look at the north back and forth it’s nearly the same. I’m sure that evolutives differences are between much larger periods of time but nevertheless it’s nice to see such a perfect cycle.

Making demos for indies are useless today since ‘normal’ sales goes on for about 1 week (or 2 if you’re lucky) then it’s over.
Most games dev. I know and myself don’t want to make long and exceptionally risky games anymore because of that consumerism phenomena.
Clearly, after a few unsuccessful sales, many of us stop…
