To be fair, this is A+ work for a class at Kentucky.

Literally made me laugh out loud...and then sad, thinking about Bernie. Now I can’t stop hearing this:
In this case it should be “Michigan’s Miracle Victory’s Cost....”
Brown sugar or unrefined sugar? Very big difference.
Ah, but can he lift a 300lb+ rock over his head with one hand?
And there are already so many carpal tunnel injuries in esports....
I tell students and parents that college is adult life with training wheels. You’re kind of on your own, but you’re not, really. And the same is true for figuring out your political views. Everyone is going to go through dumb phases as they’re exposed to new perspectives (ideally, but less likely if they go somewhere…
I thought this was going to be about duxelles, which is divine on toast.
Whelp, I guess I’ll be THAT guy:
This is an interesting idea. I feel like there have been some signs of the evolving meta on some of the maps (Junkertown’s first part comes to mind). I’m not sure that outweighs the repetitiveness—which is something the friends I watch with have all complained about.
I’m not sure I buy that this is really that much of a burden for professionals. I can understand not putting in new maps right away for this reason, but with the thousands of hours these guys have played, I find it hard to believe that they don’t know all of the older maps inside and out.
This x100. I never heard / saw any good explanation for why they were using a limited pool of maps, but seeing the same ones multiple times a night got really old really fast. Made me want to play those maps less, too.
It takes dedication and talent to concuss people both on and off the field.

I saw this and assumed that he was just trying avoid the split infinitive (“to better understand”) and was so worried about that that he didn’t think to put “better” at the end, where it would more naturally fit. Those little bits of grammar / style that people learn in school can really fuck them up.
I’m not sure how it works at MSU, but at most D1 schools, the big-time coaches are paid in part by the university, and in part from other funds (though a lot of these funds in some sense could be considered to belong to the school). For instance, in 2013 LSU paid Les Miles $300K, and then the rest of his salary came…
Don’t forget that Emmert was the chancellor of LSU who hired Saban, so it was under his watch that a perennially bad football team suddenly got really good (and was allowed to self-report only minor violations). The man has surely been party to some shady shit.
I always thought one of the dumbest things the original XFL did was try to play in prime time on Friday and Saturday (if I remember right). It seemed so obvious to just play games at 1 and 4 Eastern on Sundays, when people are already programmed for football (especially since that was before the abomination that is…
To quibble: then you should refer to it as a “bibliography” or “works cited.” “Further Reading” implies something meant for a person interested in learning more about the topic. People who can make their way through Adams’ books aren’t going to be listening to your podcast (at least not in the expectation of learning…
