In 2016 a Sheriff’s Deputy was found guilty of 2nd Degree Manslaughter for “accidentally” using his gun instead of a taser. This is probably the closest relevant case to the current one. One main difference is that in the Brooklyn Center case, there’s body cam footage.

Maybe white people genuinely cannot fathom that white supremacy is responsible for these racial incongruities because, by proxy, it would also mean that they benefit from these inequities.

I think mayor Jacob Frey and Governor Tim Walz should be given a lot of credit for restraining the police response to the protests. Frey gave the order to abandon the police precinct instead of allowing the police to use force to hold it, and he then gets criticized by Drumpf for being “weak”.
