Genius,CIA could use you,Can relate.

That’s what’s UP! As long as it was legal you were not only in the RIGHT but definitely smart to defend and protect yourself against any wrongdoing!

NY is one party consent.

I did something similar with my last full time job. I was also in a one party consent state. My bosses were misclassifying me as an independent contractor, so I went to the IRS to get that fixed. I was in a very strict at-will state which didn’t recognize really any exceptions to that doctrine, so they could’ve fired

I put my phone in my bra and turned on record. Brought in an old phone as a dup. and this was grocery retail!!

I am pretty sure that on federal property, the rules are different. I know that in many federal jobs, you aren’t allowed to have any form of cell phone for reasons of secrecy. I’m surprised the Trump White House was so lax (actually, that is a lie. I’m not surprised at all. But it does show their incompetance.)

I wish I had had access to technology like that when I was in college. I once had a boss tell me that my presence in a male-dominated environment was not a good thing, and that I should write him a letter saying this. And then probably resign.

I was professor who worked for a couple of bullies & otherwise shady folks. when the chair would ask would try to haul me on the carpet, I told him a student was waiting & I would get back to him. A few minutes later I would phone from my office phone which was wired to intercept. (1 party consent state) I retired

Did the same thing after my, now former, boss threatened to keep writing me up without any reason. Started recording every interaction with him. When he had a shitfit that he started and used that occasion to screw me over during my next review, I twent to his boss. His boss called him in and told him to rewrite the

“but she would lie about statements she previously made pretty routinely”. She should’ve applied for a job with Cheetolini.. she’d fit right in..

I hope she finds out and loses sleep over it becoming public. I recorded my former boss secretly, unfortunately I’m in CA and my tape is illegal. My boss was an abusive POS - physically, verbally. Despite being a huge liability to the company, they would always cover for her because she made a fortune for them. And

Good advice. See the link I posted elsewhere in this thread.

FYI In some states its illegal to record people on audio without their knowledge. Be very careful. Know the local laws to keep yourself out of any trouble.

You’re absolutely right. But in my particular case, not an issue:

Depending on what state you’re in that could be illegal.

Did you do the same? I got a little side-eye from one friend when I told her, but screw that. With a boss like that, protect yourself first, as long as you’re not breaking any laws, because she would have stabbed me in the back as easily as she would look at me.

You’re like a Christopher Steele.

No, it was New York and publishing. And someday I hope she finds out (I told a few trusted co-workers after I left, knowing NY is one-party consent and I wasn’t breaking any laws), because I enjoy the idea that she would wonder just how many of her lies and how much of her bullshit I (still) have on tape.

Was this an LA-based entertainment industry job, by chance? Your story...it hits close to home.

But a White House staffer tells the paper that it’s highly unlikely she would have been at a meeting of any significance to the Russia probe
