It doesn’t really surprise me that women are also poor judges of girl’s pain. It’s a cycle. We were told that our pain wasn’t as bad, so we deal with our pain, so when girl children are in pain, we parrot what we were told to do.

And if you’re a female POC,  forget it. You’re supposed to march on your two broken legs with your head held high, inspiring all us white women or whatever.

My GYN told me in her experience, it takes about 8 years for a woman to be correctly diagnosed with endometriosis or fibroids because a lot of gyns dismiss all menstrual pain and symptoms as “normal” no matter how severe.
