bruce campbell uses congo as his go-to example of a lot of talent behind the camera being no guarantee of a movie being well-made or successful. and he had a funny anecdote about how he was reprimanded for adding filler sounds into his dialogue to make it flow better.

also the one where hanson gets shot and they find out it was penhall's bullet and of course it was in the butt, so hilarity ensued.

yesss penhall met her on case, then married her to keep her in the country but it didn't work. he later went there to look for her, found her grave(?), and brought her nephew back with him. so then jump street had a cute little kid in the recurring cast.

my current feelings on johnny depp aside, i remain mindbogglingly impressed with his explicit lack of fucks in his later eps on that show. i don't think he showered, like, at all. for months.

"excellent"?

asm did peter's origin so much better than the raimi film, though.

i definitely enjoyed asm 1 more than the tobey maguire films, and so did a lot of the internet at the time. i think the sequel soured general opinion for both movies.

yeah, i forgot about the parker parents. that got ridiculous. and electro was a complete trainwreck.

counterargument: everything they did with gwen up to her death scene was pretty great, then they descended to cliched manpain porn.

i felt asm 2 had a much better balance of the villains than sm3. they only had 2 major villains plus rhino, who was in only two scenes. it was just that electro was terribly written and executed.

i felt the opposite. that bale was taking it all far too seriously.

may 5? but that's a date i can conceive of as actually happening! i'm so excited!!!

sad but true. picking the least problematic top airline is like picking the least racist major city.

that's also how i feel about hugo weaving in cap 1 and lee pace in guardians. these men have so much charisma in their other roles. how did these movies do this to them?

not just shows. i've noticed this about movies (especially franchises) and books as well. my theory is spending that much time in a character's head makes the audience more aware of all their flaws big & small, and people tend to get tired of hearing all about this one person & following their journey basically the

bashir or jadzia dax or odo
or kira or sisko or chief
or garak

mac!

it's totally peggy. hands down.

katie from american housewife is the saving grace of that show

i'll never be over billy's death. actually that's sort of why i can't get emotionally attached to the expanse. there's no billy character.
