many, many people either don't work at all or have to keep their hours low so they don't see their disability check get reduced or lose in-kind benefits like healthcare, childcare, rent assistance, and food stamps.

at the show's expense and also for the show's ratings

every time i hear about a movie i didn't realize was directed by robert altman, i think back and remember at least one scene at a table where everyone is talking over each other, and then i go "oh, of course".

and i don't think i've ever heard of priests stockpiling what they learn in confession to use as blackmail, much less an institutional policy of it

yeah, the twisted ghouls he chose for his vp, chief strategist, and cabinet

talk about family values!

according to trump's side, bill clinton is doing the evil version of his foundation work

she does look great, but someone more on paul's level of elf-like pseudo immortality is lucy liu. they're even the same age.

killjoys - a fun show about space bounty hunters, with a side of disturbing!
avatar: the last airbender - required viewing
person of interest (especially the earlier seasons)
foster's home for imaginary friends
sportsnight - like the west wing but bite-sized and about sports
friday night lights
the avengers: earth's

i just binged a few months ago and MAN, what were they thinking with that third season. what an epic letdown.

i would totally read that

is she usually smarter than that about people? i mean. mycroft.

it's literally my dream for the show to admit joan is objectively not okay and needs more than a 90 second heart to heart twice a year

i remember robert sean leonard doing an interview from the set where he said kenneth brannagh would yell cut every time he (leonard) gained a hint of a british accent. "just sound like how you are."

he's sounds like ross perot on a cocaine binge forced to sell a factory full of cars in one day

NEWSIES lmao. i wonder if a linguist has ever written a dissertation on what the world thinks new york sounds like based on silly movies.

yet any movie set in that area would have people sounding generically country or like the non manhattan bits of new york city.

but then in dark knight rises, they went unabashedly new york, even using an aerial view of manhattan to demonstrate bane's people taking out the bridges.

he did a decent "vaguely new york" rather than "obvious brit putting on a yank suit", but it didn't sound ballmer to me at all. the southern mid-atlantic has a touch of southern in it without being distinctly southern.

cbs just increased elementary episode order by two. probably time to take them out of the running until next fall.
