I’m sorry that you had to go through that. I’m really happy for you that you’ve gotten out of the relationship.

So true. I was incredibly accommodating as I tip-toed around him, to the point that I ended up enabling his behaviors. It starts small (oh, you had a bad day and don’t want to do your laundry? that’s OK I can help!) and it grows and grows and grows until it gets huge and out of control (you keep losing your jobs

I’m also waiting for my papers to come. I just want to be able to say that it is finally, truly over. I’ve moved on and greatly changed and improved my life, but I hate that there is this one thing still left. I hope you get some good news soon!

“Abusers love to gaslight their victims, so I think that when they claim to be the real victims, it’s part of the gaslighting.”

I’m sorry you’ve dealt with an abusive asshole, too :(.

Wow, that sounds like a horrible situation to be in. My abuser was my stepmother and the playbook is the same. It’s always your fault even though you’re not hitting or disfiguring anyone.

Abusers project...A LOT. Something isn’t done? Your fault. They get upset about something? Your fault. They had a shitty day? Your fault.

There are no winners or losers but I am not a villain.

There really are just way too many freaking food deserts in the U.S. - yet because it mainly effects poor people, squat is being done about it.

10 miles is pretty far by bus or when you’re saving gas or are short on time because you’re working two jobs. Just sayin’.

I’d be curious to see where these stores are located. Poor neighborhoods? Rural areas? Because 10 miles is a long distance to find transportation to in those areas. What I am trying to say is, wal mart is going to create food deserts and we are all going to die.

How does that change the fucking context of her statement? There have been PLENTY of laws, rules, regulations based on the race and religion of immigrants, and descendants of immigrants. Do yourself a favor and go back to high school or Google the various immigration acts, laws, and quotas that were enacted throughout

Ha ha OMG

They’re doing it while on the clock, while the restaurant is open, in full view of the customers dining there. That is foul and excusing it is really pretty ridiculous.

Okay, no. I’m sorry, if you’re homeless or have unsuitable housing then the last of your concerns should be having a fabulous hairdo. This is gross and I have no sympathy.

I would hope that if someone was going to use the kitchen facilities at their workplace to bathe out of necessity, they would do it at a time when the restaurant is not actively preparing and serving food in that space. Like, if you must, show up early or stay late. That at least would create a grey area, but this is

Eh, that would be awful. But if that’s her situation, they also have bathrooms she could use. She didn’t have to use the kitchen equipment that people eat off of.

Who cares? When you’re preparing food that hundreds of people are going to eat, you can’t just throw concerns about sanitation into the wind like this.

begged to use the phone to call the police, and he’d refused: “He was acting like he was drunk.”

Yes, because drunk people never have emergencies, too.
