They realize that assaulting someone in a bathroom is already illegal, right? That’s the logic they tried to use here in NC. “Gotta protect our women and girls!” You’re more likely to be assaulted by a member of Congress in a bathroom than a transgender person.

Somebody needs to get this delicate flower into a safe space.

The DNC didn’t anoint her as anything. The Democratic Party voted for her.
She was the chosen candidate of the DNC in 2008 too and she still lost. If Bernie had run a better campaign and Clinton hadn’t spent 30 years creating a network of political pros at her disposal, he would have won.

“Forcing dozens of women to go and perform for this man is without a question going to be problematic.”

You are so clearly uninterested in having any kind of discussion. Like, you’re obviously just here to be angry about POC for having opinions and for not being nice enough to white people. But again, I’ve already conceded. You don’t need my opinion because you’ve figured out everything already! Please continue!

Many people of color engage in these discussions strategically hoping to change someone’s mind or offer some elucidation. I engage in these conversations all the time (right now being an example). I’m not offended for her. I’ve gone out of my way to say I’m not condemning anyone and that I’m just describing things as

You are right. There’s no writing about this on the Internet at all. There’s literally nothing else she could’ve done to understand what was going on. She simply had to summon a person of color to act as a soundboard for her own thoughts.

How is it not? She’s called on Cho to basically pick her Asian brains on diversity and racism. That’s intellectual labor and it’s a kind that people of color do for white people all of the time. I have had so many white friends come to me with these exact kind of questions, but at least they were friends. I can only

It really seems like Cho brazenly misrepresented their conversation. Huh! Not a good look

I don’t know, I feel like once you’ve hit your golden years, if you only stole some jewels, whatever. People should be like “well, you got one over us lady. Well done. Now don’t steal anymore okay?”

“Today, a woman named Alana Hope Levinson, a “journalist” with around 30 readers, decided it was time for her to voice her concern that people are “ruining her experiences” without consultation from the rest of the internet (it wasn’t time and will never be time)“

FTFY

Sorry Alana, but you don’t have any more of a right

I don’t think it’s good but it’s definitely less bad than a Trump presidency. Are you going to sit there waiting for the nukes to hit, thinking “well, at least we preserved the integrity of the Electoral College!” Because that’s what it comes down to.

Lololol if the electoral college isn’t supposed to act this way why does it exist at all

I think electing a terrifyingly self-absorbed reality star to the highest office in the land sets a FAR more dangerous precedent. The framers embedded this flexibility *precisely* to allow electoral voters leeway to save us from these sorts of abberational horrors.

I must not be understanding this correctly. I thought that if Republican electors voted for people who are not Trump then it would eat into Trump’s number. So yeah Hillary’s number wouldn’t get bigger but wouldn’t Trump’s number get smaller if votes were pared off to another person?

This is literally why we have the stupid Electoral College. To prevent a direct democracy from electing an unfit president.

Yes.

Yea, when you cede the moral high ground to fucking ARAMARK, you might want to reassess your life.

Baseball is the only sport that actually looks like America.

Would have been nice if CNN et al. would have been this incredulous and condescending to Trump himself, who is exactly as loony as these folks but now has actual power to act in reaction to conspiracy theories.
