Spooky. I was mad on Jacobs Ladder when it first came out, all tied in with my full on "experimentation" phase and I hadn't seen it in what must be 20 years.
Impulse bought the blu ray this weekend and watched it last night, thrilled to see it still stood up.
The vibrating heads thing is still a massive freak out to

Despite The Ward, this guy still has a great movie left in him. I'm sure of it.

THIS.

It's funny how Scream keeps coming up in this thread. Which for me is the complete opposite to Cabin in so far as it doesn't work on any level whatsoever. I really, really did not like that film. In fact it pretty much ruined horror movies for a decade.

Neither are 95.3% of all "horror" films made over the last 30 years.

It's not "really good", but it's pretty solid. It loses the satire and hasn't a thought in its pretty head, hey it's a Zack Snyder movie.

Yeah, but it's better to pretend there isn't.

Oh cool. You know it being a Criterion disc your safe in presuming it's going to be great but the techy stuff is really handy for us old folks still buying physical media.

That Wendy Carlos score is the fucking nuts.

Neill Marshall too. What a waste.

Not wanting to be an arse. But… I do like a review of a reissue of a catalogue title to tell us something about the print, audio, extras etc.

No. Just different ones.

That's the second time I've seen It Follows and The Guest being being rated against each other on here; that's like comparing kettles and bananas to me.

Are Mockbuster's really exploitation? I mean they exploit the gullible, the myopic and the illiterate but exploiting the audience isn't the same thing.

Robert Clouse had a great run with those 70's kung fu flicks, and the audio design and score is a massive part of that. Enter The Dragon and Battle Creek Brawl/The Big Brawl landed Schifrin, John Barry on Game of Death and Coffy on BBJ.

Ha ha! I posted that shit before I walked in the room.

Black Belt Jones is my favourite too; Jim Kelly, Scatman Crothers, a stone cold funk classic theme tune from Dennis Coffy, the trampoline bouncing army of bikini clad karate chicks! Awesome.

They've all got their flaws but I love how the REC series basically goes

Oh I clean forgot about Bubba Ho-Tep… Deeply ashamed, love it.

Obligatory post to listicle complaining about ommisions…
