Having owned both cars, the Miata feels faster around town with a slightly better engine tune. The FRS/BRZ is more at home in stock form at the track and at the limits the two felt nearly identical.

While the price may be fair given Audi corporate’s cost, BMW and Lexus offer FREE autocross and performance sprint/braking experiences in their cars. So for $1000 I get a limited amount of seat time on track and no full uninterrupted laps?
