We just use our company subsidized phones and we get a Lenovo notebook and Lenovo dock, plus Lenovo mouse and keyboard for use but many of us just leave our notebooks put away most of the time. It’s all work issued gear. We also have VMWare airwatch deployed for access control, audit trail, VPN, secure partition…

Too small though is negating the fact it can use an external display (can be touch), keyboard and mouse and do all basic and most advanced office functionalities. I even use webex for placing calls and hosting video conference meetings from my phone in DeX mode.

I just noticed the irony here....the phone used in the picture is an S10 but the author didnt even consider the DeX software or was not aware of it.

My S9 is my 90% replacement to my notebook at work. Just need a supported USB C dock and then it loads the DeX OS and it IS a desktop replacement for a general corporate office worker. Little known thing...very powerful.

Check out DeX...I can manage an entire data center remotely on my S9 by hooking it up to a USB C dock, mouse, keyboard and 27" HDMI monitor. I can also design my next data center in it, create complex multi tab spreadsheets, manage and sort email, create complex power point presentations, manage playlists, edit…

Also worth noting, it supports touchscreen monitors too. No software needed.

No App needed. Its firmware functionality limited to Samsungs top end phones (S8 and later, latest note, latest tab). Just plug it in and done.

You should check out Samsung DeX for their higher end phones. 95% of what you have said works perfectly fine on them. 

Im not sure I agree with this. I have an S9 that I use with a Lenovo USC C dock. With that, I have a 27" screen over HDMI, a jabra wireless headset with USB dongle and wireless mouse and keyboard.

This is not nearly as prevelant in my line of business. I’m an enterprise data center architect and go to many conferences and see TONS of demos.

HP Enterprise is their infrastructure and services business...think 3PAR, Proliant, Simplivity, Aruba, etc.

HP Inc. is there PC and print business. They not only make consumer PC’s such as Pavilion’s but they also develop and sell the Elitebook, EliteDesk, Elite Workstations and Z-book lines which are all enterprise…
