Yeah and Mark Twain predicted ebooks - making reference to “electronic books” in the first volume of his autobiography, predicting such a thing might be possible by the time his book releases 100 years after his death. Well darned if he wasn’t right. That bit about the guy who predicted the internet was pretty

I agree with you 100 percent. How does she stand by and say nothing while this asshole mistreats him like that? F that.

I had that same thought. If a new person came into my group of friends, and one of those said friends started saying something like that to the new person, that would be record-scratch, stop the music, WTF? moment. It doesn’t matter if it’s a new boyfriend, a new friend, whoever, you don’t treat people like that. It

I used to have a great streaming site that showed NFL games from the British version of ESPN. Nothing like announcers telling you they’ve “got an absolute crackah of a matchup for you today.” This was my favorite way to watch football games, but of course streaming sites on the internet never last too long...

I agree. The rest are pretty major lifestyle choices, and are just that: Choices. If they were toxic people, then yes. Unless they’re really far away, you’re going to have to deal with them. But expecting a significant other to have disowned someone JUST because of their political beliefs is ridiculous.

Yeah, I know plenty of people who fit that description except the pets - that’s the wild card for sure.

For LW2, I was thinking it would be helpful to turn the negatives into positives, or at least soften the language a bit. This looks challenging though. Maybe something like “Looking for a long-term, committed relationship (but not marriage).” It looks better than “I will under no circumstances ever get married” but

Nah, we call ‘em Tortilla chips, we just add “you betcha” at the end.

I beg to differ on scrambled eggs. I agree they’re easy, but you can mess up anything, and I’ve had some abysmal scrambled eggs. Rare, as it is an incredibly easy dish, but if definitely happens.

I’m with ya, man. Last time I was in a retail setting and had to deal with a “can I speak to your manager” type, the Friends haircut was still popular... #OldsStickTogether

I never have understood why everyone wants to board as quickly as possible. The flight leaves at the same time for everyone, and the terminal seats are far more comfortable than the airplane’s. I usually wait until the one of the later rows to be called, then get in line.

One of the places I cross country ski has a ski jump, and you see it about 1/2 mile away. It TOWERS over the trees. Every time I look at it I have to say to myself: Nope, nope, nope. They just look much taller in real life than on TV.

Hey, one of those over-30s here! I’m fascinated by all of this. Now, what are these YouTubes, exactly, and how do I find them?

I mean, I momentarily thought about holding a Super Bowl party only to have some kind of Always Sunny theme, complete with appropriate cosplay, but let’s be real: It’s one of those ideas that sounds really good in theory but actually would be more of a pain in the butt to put together than it would be actually

I only discovered this recently too, in planning a trip to visit my girlfriend in Germany. If not for someone mentioning the six month rule (talking in general, I guess they didn’t know it varied by country) I would just have assumed something works until it has expired. Of course nothing could ever be that logical.

That’s just what Big Seph(iroth) wants you to think.

It’s such BS that Phoenix Downs aren’t considered a “necessary procedure” by our insurance companies...

I had a boss about 15 years ago who would read entire newspaper articles out loud. Exasperating the annoyance was the fact that it was a job with a lot of downtime, so reading the local paper was a small boon against boredom, so having someone read it to you removed one more option to relieve said boredom. Finally one

Rogan didn’t make a joke about Nickelback; he said he liked them, and has talked about how he doesn’t understand hate for Nickelback on previous episodes.
