I didn’t care for the fact that Nicholson is already halfway to crazy town before they ever get to the Overlook.

Completely agree about Jack Torrance. It’s a shame because it’s one of King’s most fully realized (and believably tragic) characters. I’ve grown to appreciate the movie for its other great qualities but for years I couldn’t get past Nicholson’s over-the-top performance.

That was kind of Stephen King’s objection to casting Nicholson in the film.  He didn’t think it was going to be surprising for the audience to see him go crazy.

Depends on if there are pre payment penalties on the loan or not. If not, then there’s almost no interest paid within the first payment cycle.

I don’t know if this may be true in specific circumstances, but it’s never been true on any car loan I’ve had. I’ve paid off multiple car loans early, and I’ve only ever paid the remaining principle. 

And the overly wide jaw look for every horror movie since.

I miss the days of upgrading the stock radio to a new Alpine unit with a detachable faceplate so it doesn’t get stolen while I’m in Blockbuster, picking out a VHS to watch.

That reminds me; CD changers. I had a Kenwood deck with integral controls for a 10-disc changer in the trunk, similar to this.
