The ragebait seems to be receding, and I’ve definitely observed an uptick in actual pop culture journalism since the sale. I’m guardedly optimistic, against my better judgment.

I certainly believe that’s why he first got into the race. But once it became apparent that he actually had a shot at the thing his ego fully took over. Then it was “look how great I am - I beat a pile of career politicians despite having never held an office in my life!!”
I did not know that!
Curious to see what kind of response you get to this one.
Social media in particular has made a few thousand likes, repost, pick your reaction, seem like far more than it is, from a portion of the population perspective. “Blowing up on Twitter” may be the most overused and abused phrase of the last decade.
My take exactly. This is scoring points to feel self-righteous and give you something over which to enthusiastically agree with your fellow travelers.
I think the bigger issue is, Trump aside, it only takes a small corner of the internet / social media to go apeshit on somebody and have it look like a societal movement. So it is remarkably easy to find someone looking to “cancel” someone else over whatever perceived slight, often invented for the occasion, they may…
Affleck has definitely shown some chops as a director, a bit to my surprise TBH.
Crowe had range, he’s just so comfortable where he is right now that he doesn’t exercise it much. LA Confidential, The Insider, M&C, Cinderella Man and 3:10 to Yuma were all distinct performances. And he can exude serious menace when he wants to. Bud White was a terrifying man.
Pretty sure they’re never in frame together, and yeah their face-to-face was two seconds tops.
I would swear it ran for at least a few years.
I guess Snyder and his lawyers could make this all so expensive for Kinematics that they settle by making changes to the movie, but on actual legal grounds I don’t see how he has any case whatsoever.
I expect he thought that his money meant everything would turn out to his liking, in the manner he’s accustomed.
Beat me to it, dammit
Too bad the spoon on a chain went out of fashion with Sammy Davis Jr.’s death.
Trump would have been exactly like Snyder, always trying to run a team on a string. Doing the minimum doesn’t fly in the NFL.
Yeah but pretty much every other owner loves for people to know how much money they pump into their teams. Snyder took his cut (the “Snyder Cut,” of course) of the league earnings and dropped it in his pocket.
Would make for a lower makeup budget.
Especially since the inspiration for the movies was a damn theme park ride with no named characters. That’s a lot of pirates to choose from.
I know there was no reason to expect a reenactment could capture the spark those two had IRL but it was still disappointing.
