You could tell me the new model is produced by almost any manufacturer and I’d believe you. Such a waste of one of the iconic styles in automotive history. My mom had the last gen before the switch in British racing green and it was a beautiful ride. Very wide car, don’t expect to squeeze into narrow parking spaces,

The present-day love for the Fiero is amusing to me as someone who remembers the initial production run. They were NOT considered prestige or performance cars in any way, shape or form. You looked sideways at a guy who drove one.

The front end suffered from the era’s tendency towards hood lines that looked like they were melting into the front bumper.  Otherwise that’s a strong design.

There was tremendous animosity towards the Saturn division from the very beginning, being a non-union shop based in low-cost Tennessee.  The second it tripped up it was ball game.  Which is too bad, because the Vue was a nice-looking little SUV that would have been selling like crazy just a few years later and the Sky

The horrible, cheesy plastic beak grille sure didn’t help. I was looking at some used models for my teenaged daughter and just can’t bring myself to buy anything that leads with this.

I’ve been happily married for a long time, wonderful children, etc. and still find myself occasionally thinking fondly about my high school girlfriend.  We went to different colleges, tried and failed like most to make it work long distance, and never really tried to put it back together afterwards.  I’m not “not

My cousin has apparently been in what had become a very controlling marriage, but she traveled a fair bit for work (and made more money than he did) so his ability to do so was historically limited. Her being home for six months, and seeing that he was doing the same things to their young son with predictable results,

I was thinking the same thing - a bit of righteous indignation is not only justified, but probably healthy in helping her move on.  Fuck that guy!

I’m white and grew up hearing it used to make fun of people whose hair looked like they just got out of bed. It was more of a joking insult. But even young suburban me knew the implication of saying that about a black person.

Given the construction of her sister’s career, this should be the least surprising revelation ever.

She’s picking some fine company, isn’t she? The godfather of the anti-vaxx movement had his medical license stripped right there in her home country for being a dangerous quack.  That’s not an easy thing to do.

Seriously. The methods by which vaccines work have been around for, oh, a little while now. Meanwhile I’m looking forward to Wright’s evaluation of the potential risks of messenger ribonucleic acid. Sounds icky, you know?

I can imagine. My experiences were basically tooling around the neighborhood in my high school friends’ cars. I wasn’t driving it to work in rush hour traffic or anything.

Counterpoint:

As she alluded to in the interview and from what I’ve read elsewhere, she kept her life more separate from the SNL scene than most of the other cast members. Not only what she was talking about, not “playing,” but also going home to her family on Saturday nights after the show wrapped instead of partying until dawn

C’mon, this may be the best answer ever to a student whining that they’ll never need to use geometry in real life. “Oh, I guess you think you’ll never ride in a heritage Lincoln, huh?”

I don’t know that this is a “good” fit but it’s better than Westbrook, who I consider to be as ball-dominant (given the opportunity) as Harden. I know they like playing together but once the game starts there’s not room for both of them. I don’t think of Wall quite the same way.

I didn’t know that about Chow. I just assumed she was at least part N.A. She’s certainly far less native looking than the rest of the actresses. Honestly surprised there hasn’t been more pushback on that.

Well, not many more; 25%. That means 75% are not.
