Agreed. At first I thought it was a juvenile way to flirt with her. But the actual meaning, especially when put up against his behavior for the rest of the date is much more sinister. *shudder*

When I lived in DC I had dudes hit on me/attempt to strike up a conversation by bragging about hazard pay - like, that was the first thing they said to me. It happened three or four times. Am I supposed to be impressed?
