I think it’s one of the reasons I get so peeved when someone continuously mispronounces it-and I don’t mean casual acquaintances. I mean co-workers. The disconnect is the spelling is different than what people are used to seeing.

This was a US history AP class. He knew a TON of stuff and everyone seemed to love him. I never developed that fondness for him.

I think since Zendaya is a POC she has experienced the ugly sides of racism and race privilege in America. She is forced to deal with the everyday type of racism that this site often tries to call out. So it is not weird or ‘uppity’ for her to view this through that type of lens.
