I cannot speak for true private organizations as all of my contracting has required a security clearance and been associated with the US government (I am former military). Some companies only ask that you be ‘eligible’ for a clearance as in you’re relatively squeaky clean with no felonies. But with the competition…

It’s a private pre-school/day care center :(. The bread/potato thing is weird but it seems there is a breakfast/lunch/afternoon snack that the center is responsible for. I think those requirements are as a ‘whole’ and not specific to just the lunch meal.

This whole article is incorrect and throwing in the public school spokesperson is genuinely misleading.

They have an application packet that every parent must fill out. It even provides great questions that some people might not even think of. They also meet all kinds of dietary accommodations and other special needs.

I wouldn’t spread that as gospel. I know a couple of five year olds with parents that have never given them candy.
