I should have read this before replying. I came to say the same idea.
I’ve also read that when offering assistance-don’t be vague with “If you need anything, let me know”. As opposed to “I’ll stop by on Tuesday with your favorite casserole” or something like that. Because it takes the stress off of a grieving person to have to think of a favor that might make their lives a little bit…

I know it’s something we all read and hear continuously, but communication is key. Finding the way to communicate with people can make all of the difference. Then respecting and understanding where the other person comes from obviously helps.
