Oh my God that car is pretty. I think this is the first time I’ve ever read a second article on the same concept car just shown at a different auto show. If I were a famous old man I’d probably harass that car and be fired/resign/step down from office.

Yeah. Amenities right? As much as an old S2000 and a cayman are awesome to drive...I don’t think I’d give up my boring ass ford fusion for those. A fast FR-S that coordinates with my phone though....yes.

Well giffed sir or madame....very well giffed indeed.

Well that’s good to hear. I actually really love the i8. I think a balanced car is a beautiful thing. Matt Farah’s Fox body mustang for example (https://wheelwell.com/matt-farah/mnu/1988-ford-mustang). I’d take his mustang for the track and the i8 for a daily head turner. Then I’d have an 89 Forerunner (rusty

This is not a car for Jalopnik readers. However, non car geek friends and family think this car is super cool. I’d rather have a model S too. But, here in Silicon Valley, an i8 stands out way more than a model S does. I think that is it’s niche. It’s just a cool car and people with that kind of money don’t care about

The current version does suck to drive. Agreed. Actually even the Genesis coupe sucked to drive. The Veloster is a unique car though and I applaud that. Hyundai will get driving dynamics down one of these days. There are so few unique mass market cars these days. Cars have become the equivalent of character free

C4 Corvette should be blown up with C4.

I’ll be interested in hearing if the car is more composed relative to the Z06. That car was considered over powered on the track and couldn’t keep it’s backside planted (according to auto journalists...particularly Randy Pope).

Any thoughts on the magnetic suspension in the GT? I know when the IRS mustang first appeared some were a little underwhelmed with the handling.

Wow. He and Hitler would have had some warm conversations.

I think your point about propping up sales in some cases is valid for sure. However, there are still a few automakers out there who don’t have viable EV’s yet...so one could argue the incentive should still be there. But...it has been many years that we have had the incentive so maybe at this point those automakers

I agree with you broadly. However, the incentive does help the industry move along in terms of electrifying. At some point, the credit should go away because EVs should be conventionally competitive (as you pointed out). What I’m not sure about is whether or not now is the time.

Meh

100% headline chuckle. Alone at my desk. Look crazy. Worth it. Also....as an avowed gearhead....why am I just now seeing the awesomeness in the Astro van? My car fan credentials should be revoked.

Yes..awesome. Let’s be real...some of the best moments in car shows are not when the hosts drive the cool cars...It’s when they drive the weird cars. Like in Top Gear when they drove the Reliant Robyn. Or in comedians in cars getting coffee when they drove the Fiat Jolly.

Yes!!

The competition parts were pretty great.

1/3 of the time...that’s true actually.

There better be a Ford GT in this season. Also yes of course I will watch. Those 3 are like pizza. Even if it’s not the best pizza...it’s still better than not having pizza. And let’s be honest, if they had never left Top Gear, and changed to The Grand Tour format...almost no one would notice (except of course

My fat ass could fit in those panel gaps. I still kind of want it though. It’s hilarious and unique and will probably run forever. Wrenching = easy.
