It’s more of a safety issue- not to have other people do things for you. It’s the same reason people should give seats up to the elderly. You try bouncing around with a 25 lb weight on your chest while holding onto a bar with one hand. It’s actually worse when you have a stroller, because you are then bouncing around

That’s why I like to wear my baby. Getting a stroller on the bus seems way more difficult to me

It is more of a safety matter to me, especially on a bus. I feel top heavy and it more difficult to keep balance when the bus is jerking around. I feel like if I fell, it would be way worse with a child strapped to me. Plus people are always jostling around and pushing through to get on and off. My daughter doesn’t

Sadly it doesn't get any better after they come out. You be surprised by the amount of people who don't move to let you sit with a baby strapped to your chest.

I am a tenure-track faculty at a community college in the Bay Area. My starting salary was way higher than faculty in the same field and rank at UC Berkeley. In fact I am currently making almost as much as a full professor in my field at UC Berkley and this is only my 2nd year on the job. I also get yearly pay raises
