The competition between game company's just seems a lot hotter. Microsoft can release skype for those devices without authorization or negotiating with the creators. Microsoft can just make the app and put in on the marketplace, to have it on the ps3 sony would have to actively engage Microsoft.
Getting Sony to put a Microsoft service on it's competing platform may be hard.

You're allowed to bring up piracy, hell there have been like 5 articles on it in the last month.
With dated hardware and limited ram it'll be ok for very basic editing, but no one should be expecting it to be nearly as good as it's desktop counterpart.
Most comments are in response to people saying "don't release it on pc it will just get pirated, no one will buy it".
How is any of that relevant when this is a digital download?
