We really need to disabuse ourselves of this myth that THIS YEAR Trump suddenly got a bunch of new voters. He basically got the same voters Romney did in the same proportion and the same share of the white vote every Republican has gotten EVERY SINGLE ELECTION since 2000.

As several of the anecdotes point out, a lot of the military comes from areas that would have gone toward Trump and there’s already a culture of stifling dissent arising among them.
