The "no-one is safe" idea is a bit of a misconception. No character in this series dies without fulfilling their narrative purpose even though they don't get to finish their own story. This leads to a lot of pointless dead-end c-list characters but it's a rule that hasn't yet been broken.

I wasn't even looking that deep. I just mean it seems to me that the way she addressed the shithead lawyer is likely the way she addresses a lot of people. She definitely seems tonhave let fame go to her head, I have no opinions on her stance on large social issues or giving to charity.

Oblique symbolism is fine, but when it's attached to an existing story in place of the symbolism that was the entire point of the story then I have to wonder why anyone would want to adapt a story at all. I appreciate what Kubrick was trying to say but that's not what The Shining is about and in changing the focus he

What a perfectly random thing to insult a person about, and two years after the fact to boot. So do you have some grand point to make or do you just like dropping in on people to let them know you're an asshole for no reason?

That didn't get nearly enough upvotes.

Her snappy comebacks coupled with the fact that she kept referring to the lawyer by only his first name really made that story for me. Everything I've read or seen about her makes her seem like a horrible person but at least she's capable of using her horrible powers for good.

It would be an intensely voluminous time capsule filled with something really cool, but you'd have to dig through tons of pretentious filler to get to it.

As someone who just shotgunned six Resident Evil movies I firmly agree. Almost all of her movies are nigh-unwatchable but she's wonderful and I'll follow her anywhere.

To sell Honeycomb.

Don't sweat it those Honeycomb 3-D glasses were horseshit. They barely worked on the Honeycomb box or comic books and they didn't work on TVs really at all.

All you've done is demonstrate how inefficient and dumb the words we use for those professions are. Are you happy with yourself?

Well he'll at least have a bright future at Starz if that's the case.

If mediocrity had an overpriced restaurant chain, it would be Cracker Barrel. The appeal (if it can be called that) is that they have a chintzy store at the front that sells old-style candy, rare varieties of soda in glass bottles, and other random stuff of varying quality (souvenir t-shirts, seasons of ancient

Are you really that surprised that the fans of an artist whose thesis statement is "everything that's happened since high school is a disappointment, let's get fucked up" would behave in such a way?

Every time New York wasn't onscreen I was asking "Where's New York?"

True enough, Cooper's dead in every scenario and I think his wife would be too. And knowing Ben and everyone else they'd probably end up getting someone else killed trying to save one or both of them from the daughter or fighting with Cooper, but I mean, even if one person lived hiding in the basement (and presumably

I think they're focusing on the fact that he basically legitimized indie-horror and opened the doors for countless other genre film-makers to follow in his footsteps into today. Also he inspired generations of film-makers who would go on to make socially conscious genre films as inspiration. They're making no

Is that not just how Anna Faris sounds?

Oh no, not kinda, I believe the exact quote was "sexy as fuck."

Oh so it's every horror novel from the 70s then.
