I like seeing things like this, and we need more of it. I-696 in Metro Detroit has 3 tunnels, atop which are parks so the orthodox Jewish communities there can walk to the synagogues. They did that in the 1980s when they built that segment of the freeway, and they’re rather pleasant for biking and walking even with

Who would want to be in an underground park with no sunlight?

Yes, but why would Tesla want electric car owners to use chargers that Tesla won’t make metered money off of?

Oh shut up.

China and India are going full-bore with GenIV full-size plants using both uranium and thorium, Vogtle Units 3&4 will be coming online in June, NuScale just got NRC approval less than two months ago, China has just commissioned the HTR-PM small modular pebble bed reactor, and the ARC-100 small modular

I listened to the highlights of the investor day and it reminded me a lot of Apple’s “Think Different” campaign, which was some fluffy marketing to cover up the fact that they didn’t have any new products in their pipeline.

YES!  I immediately thought “wait, isn’t that why cars use CAN Bus these days?”

One of the fun thoughts I had awhile ago: If Elon watched the movie Don’t Look Up, would he not see anything wrong with the Mark Rylance character, or just not realize it’s supposed to be him?

When you have to preface your investors’ day message from the overlord with a warning that he is basically high as fuck all the time and just straight up making shit up, maybe it doesn’t promote investor confidence?

Republicans don’t care if porn is no longer online because they still buy magazines and VHS/Betamax/Super8 movies, or go to good, wholesome, old-fashioned whore houses, with the better paid politicians keeping mistresses or mistersses.

Louisiana still has a Democrat Governor, who could have vetoed the bill. He did not. This sort of thing is low-hanging fruit for the far right, they can parrot back the left’s line “Won’t somebody think of the children” without any serious blowback from, well, anyone. Meh.

“Yes, it looks cool”

The longest wipers I’ve ever seen on the market are 36-inchers, for big RVs. We’ve actually sold a few pairs, so we stock them. Down from there are 32's which are RVs or heavy trucks usually. Still not very common. Next sizes down are 29's and 28's, which you see a little bit of in passenger cars and trucks.

And just like that, I’m in a rabbit hole. Most of the sites have the same GVWRs for classes 1-8. The HUMMER EV has a GVWR of 10,550, which puts it in class 3 (10,001-14,000), with the F350 and 3500s... and it looks like that makes it medium duty, or some combination of the words light and heavy and duty for EPA

Someone should just slap a cybertruck body kit on the model x and call it a day. Tape three windshield wipers together to get the full effect.

bah. just go by a Rivian. its like the cyber truck, but its good and it exists.

That really is the billion dollar question, and I think it’s because many of Elon’s ideas are just a knee jerk reaction to needing some insane news to keep the hype going and boost the stock. Anything to avoid the markets concluding that Tesla is becoming a “normal” car company, and shouldn’t be valued at such a crazy

This is just Elon’s attempt to troll:

I’m surprised Musk hasn’t twitted exactly that.

His next project will be to ask “what if the whole airplane was made of the same material as the black box?”

Stainless steel: all of the weight of regular steel, with the unforgiving stiffness of aluminum.
