A public corporation is beholden to their shareholders.
A public corporation is beholden to their shareholders.
This current trend of companies bending over backwards for idiot shareholders needs to end. Just look at General Electric to see why.
Neutral: I’m sure it will work for some people, but at the same time I’ve never been wooed by a car ad into buying said car without proper research. I honestly dont think anyone within Ford (including Hackett) has a clear vision of where the company is going.
1st: While I am a fan of the basic premise of the ads (that I trust established car companies to do a better job of producing self-driving cars than startups and google and whatnot), Talking down to smaller startups isn’t going to go over well when you are laying people off and and your stock price is in the tank. It…
1st gear: Ford still doesn’t have a clue.
If they are selling every single Model3 they make, and their production is maxed out then there is no reason for them to start manufacturing the base $35k model3. Perhaps once sales sag or manufacturing capacity increases to the point of exceeding demand of the higher priced cars then will they start the cheapie one.
There’s a lot of downside to going public. Besides all of the extra financial disclosure rules, you’re also at the mercy of investors who only care about stock price. If you see an investment opportunity that might take years before it starts paying off, and you can’t sell the stock buying public on that strategy you…
1st, 2nd, and Neutral: I just watched several of the Edge ST commercials on their Youtube channel, and the messaging is absolutely cringe-worthy. It basically equates to, “Want a sports car that isn’t really a sports car?” The only mention of performance is how much HP it has, otherwise the focus is seems to be all on…
“Let the other guys keep dreaming about the future. We’ll be selling F150s to you angry old Luddites.”
Minus $7500 credit means the price is actually within a couple grand of the AVERAGE new car sales price in America. I would say that average is affordable, given thats what most people are spending.
Have you been shopping for a new car lately? $35,000 is right in the ballpark of its direct competitors.
Uhm, even if you look at the most expensive luxurious golf carts, they still don’t have even half as good of an interior of a model 3. Have you even seen a golf cart?
Why would Tesla, which is in a cash crunch, introduce a lower price model if they have demand for existing models and only one factory? Also strange that if you’ve put down your nonrefundable $2500 order fee you don’t get your standard car for 4-6 months according to Tesla, but newer orders might be fulfilled first.
Massive wealth controlled by a small number of people almost always breeds corruption. The correlation between oil-rich nations and despotic governments is an interesting one.
Like Homer Simpson, I like my beer cold, my TV loud, and my engines combusting internally. That said, I’ve recently had an electrical epiphany, and honestly I can’t wait for the coming wave of affordable EV’s. The reason? The recent Saudi threat to escalate oil to $200 barrel if we called them out on their murder…
That’s for the Performance version though, and is priced on par with the M3 and C63 so not totally crazy.
Every EV doesn’t let you go “into gear” if the charge cord is plugged in.
It makes more sense, since the garage is already wired for electricity.
I can only imagine what that garage’s breaker panel must look like!
