Nope, you read it wrong. They have access to full data, with no de-identification at all.

Sure am glad Google’s motto is “Don’t be evil”.... oh wait.

This is completely false. Google has access to all of the electronic health record data, without any de-identification. In fact, from HIPAA, any “Business Associate” of a “Covered Entity” (Hospital) can access health information which includes protected health information or PHI.

I have a question that I haven’t been able to figure out from Google or googling! Does “deleting” your data actually delete it? Or does it just remove it from your account? My suspicion is that its for hiding your history from yourself or your family, but there’s no actual deleting involved.

I realize through this that I definitely don’t trust Google.  How would we ever know if any of these features do anything at all other than change what it says on the dashboard?  If a government comes and says, give me all the location data on baudboi, does Google really say, oops he had privacy turned on so nope.  I

Polite is a way to feel comfortable in any situation.  Don’t know how to act?  Just default to polite and you will probably be fine.  Around people where you DO know how to act? fuck polite, just be who you are in that relationship!

I don’t even begin to believe that “Privacy is foundational”.   If they find a money making way to use your recording, does anyone really believe they won’t use your recording for that? If any police organization asks for your recording, is Amazon going to quote the constitution at them?

Is it just me, or is this kind of silly? If someone looks like a guy, and I call them a guy, and they correct me, I’ll call them whatever they want and we can both move on with our lives.  I dont think it makes sense to pre-emptively assume everyone will be offended by me caring 0% about their gender.

We are racist, and our algorithms reflect that. Both humans and algorithms are ignorant of the fact that skin color is independent of human value until they are taught.

Like you say, they have yet to really be tested. They have offered good returns in these last 7 years of growth, but so have most other investments! They are definitely more passive than actually owning real estate, which is less of a passive income and more of a part time (or full time!) job with a high hourly rate.

My mother-in-law is a sweet lady from Croatia who had a restaurant in west Texas for over 20 years. It was a local gem that was always packed, and served simple but delicious dishes that everyone loved. Whats the secret? Everything was covered all up and down in “Vegeta”. Which is just a european brand of MSG.

He seems like a smart, affable, thoughtful dude, JUST LIKE EVERY MCKINSEY CONSULTANT EVER. If you have ever met any one of them they are all Harvard grads, all brilliant, and all totally brainwashed. They are corporate mercenaries, who will solve any problem you ask. Need to figure out how to depress your worker’s

The key idea here is that software, especially deep learning, is improving wayyyyyy faster than hardware (LiDAR). Elon made the bet that software would be good enough with cameras faster than LiDAR would be cheap enough to actually be feasible. Seems like he has the edge at the moment.

In Q3 2018 they only had $53M of ZEV credits and $311M profit. Somehow your numbers don’t add up.

I was in the exact position you describe, either looking for a base model Infiniti Q50 or a fully loaded Mazda 6. I went into the Mazda dealership in Dallas, TX, and basically the decision was made for me right there by the almost comical high pressure sales, before any info or even a test drive.

“just don’t procrastinate”

Tesla has been profitable for the last 2 quarters. After sucking up ~6 billion in investment, they are now producing and selling cars at around 7000 per week.

For the Vanguard advisor it is 0.30% per year on the portfolio under management. For example if you had 100k invested that is 300 dollars per year.

I started investing with Vanguard, took basically all my life savings and retirement and put it in the market like 2 days before the big drop at the end of last year. It hurt really bad and was really scary and I wanted to pull out right away with 15% lost.
