It's proof that the theaters don't make any money off tickets, but that's pretty old news to anyone who has even a passing knowledge of the business.

Booze, maybe.

For all those homeless people with iPhones and credit cards I maintain monthly accounts.

It seems pretty obvious that an exclusive deal would be part of the agreement. Just like theaters pick one brand of soft drink to sell.

I don't know about 100%, but it's long been established that studios take a 90/10 split or so on the first week of a films release.

They get a very small cut from ticket sales the first couple weeks, gradually increasing as the run continues. They make all their money on concessions.

The price actually seems like the right number. Remember that most people don't see movies nearly as often as this commentariat.

You still have to buy a ticket and exit the theater after every film- not to mention, you have to have an account that's up to date. I don't think "transients" are going to an issue.

What the fuck do they care? Worst case scenario they're right, and MoviePass folds. They're still getting their full retail price on the tickets.

You doubted Tennant's ability to be an evil SOB?

Cool story bro? I agree with all that doesn't really change my response to the scene.

Yeah, but are heavy drinkers really going to go to Applebee's? Why pay an extra buck fifty for miller lite at a shitty "family" restaurant when any proper bar is just as good?

The Phanton Menace duel gets there for me. The music helps.

References to military power will always go over well.

Grand jury was convened. There's reports of indictments being sealed.

Good cast on that film. I'll definitely check it out.

So basically you only have a problem with it if the books are currently popular?

Sure. But if we're going to treat Dany's claim at all seriously, then there's no reason not to discuss Jon's either.

Thanks very much!

That makes more sense to me than the Agnatic Primogenture Jared references, and probably is more digestible to a modern audience, if they are going that route.
