Apple Cider! Seriously, it's one of the few good things about Autumn. Apple Cider doughnuts are great as well. :D

My problem with a lot of Atheists in regards to discussions of faith is that a lot of the ones I met aren't particularly Atheists; they're just mad at God or their Christian parents. I have more respect for those who question their own beliefs. In fact I've heard several sermons where the preacher was encouraging…
So the milk, eggs and produce I buy there is unhealthy? Damn!
Honestly, I buy almost nothing at Walmart anymore. My local Price Chopper and Aldi are much better sources for groceries. About the only things that I buy at Walmart these days is King Arthur Flour and Cabot cheese, otherwise why go to Walmart and MAYBE save 10 cents off a cart when their prices aren't nearly as good…
Welcome to the Dollhouse. I haven't thought of that movie in years! I remember catching it late night on TV when I used to work second shift. Very bizarre movie.
Interesting but I switched to a furoshiki a long time ago. People at work claim I need to carry it in on a fishing pole and wear a large straw hat.
Basically in wheat flour are two proteins: gliadin and a glutelin. Since these proteins are insoluble in water, the water washes away the associated starch and with some agitation (usually kneading but time will also do it too) gluten is formed. Gluten isn't just the new cool allergy (Peanuts are SOOOO 2005!) it's…
Just don't use gasoline ...
I've never bothered as a teaspoon in a large batch of cookies isn't going to intoxicate you. Besides that small amount will evaporate to an infinitesimal amount per serving. I'm not totally extreme like say Mormons or Muslims so I'll use the extract and gargle with Listerine. I just won't buy or serve booze.
Not all evaporates, though. I'm sure I get some in vanilla extract but still I'm not going to buy vodka just for pie crust.
The scientific reason is that water is, well 100% H20. Vodka is 60% water (depending on proof of course) so with less water with the same amount of liquid you get to work the dough without that nasty stringy protein called Gluten.*
Wow, I wish I had known about this earlier. It sure would've saved me some trouble!
I NEVER trust a recipe that does not include weight measurements for flour. It's fine if you are experienced but my three favorite recipe sources (King Arthur Flour Cookbook, Cooks Illustrated and Alton Brown) all include weight for flour. Cocoa powder also should be weighed.
I think the difference is Walugi was more to make up numbers in the Mario Party/Golf/Tennis games. Wario is a great character with some great games to his credit.
Does your library have an inter-library loan program?
Well at this point I'm in a "damned if you do, damned if you don't" situation so I'm going to continue using my awesome new paper wallet and just donate or give away the wallet as a Christmas present to someone not in my family.
Yeah it's a pretty restrictive allergy. When planning our wedding my future in-laws seemed pretty pissed that I had them make an onion-free entree (that was still pretty gross) for me.
I'd say it's the pasta in general. I have no problem eating rice noodles in something like, say, Singapore noodles. In fact, I adore Mai-Fun but wheat pasta tastes literally like I'm eating paste. Gack!
Onions, shallots and scallions. I've never had leeks but I've been told the enzyme in onions that causes the allergic reaction is not present in leeks. It's also not present in garlic (which is the other member of the same family.)
I don't know that guys change wallets. I know I used my last (duct tape) wallet for the better part of two years. It was a nice conversation starter as I had a Space Invader on it.
