Well, the more you know! Turns out I’m an expert on computer science AND our legal system, heh. I like being wrong when it means I get to learn new things, so thanks!

Probably the same logic behind a triple life sentence with no bail. It’s a symbolic thing. Also, somebody above suggested it might be easier for the developers to code. I don’t know, I’m no comp-sci.

Yup. Normally I don’t complain about free games, but every point you made was spot on: if they want their game to succeed (as we all do!) then it needs that staying power.

I’m still not sure if I’ll be getting this game, but I appreciate the depth of this write up. I’d love to see more quality journablogging like this :) I love Kotaku for this kind of material.

And this one is developed by Nintendo, a traditionally family-friendly game that appeals to children with these games. Oh, little Timmy wants another game with Chrom, Lucina, and Tiki? Cool, he’s got to sort through this garbage. Again, I like the game but this is NOT a part that Nintendo should have let slip through.

That’s the part that I think is fucked up. The fanservice—while I don’t like it I also understand that that’s what some of the artists specialize in, and it’s sort of a staple of this type of gameplay—but the sexualized “hurt” is just so screwy.

Well, I’m relieved it isn’t just one gender. As a dude who hates fan service in games, all I’ve noticed is how the women are dressed in waaaay skimpier outfits than they were in their games, have had bust sizes increased/more skin shown (looking at you, Lyn), and most disturbingly are extremely sexualized in their

Gnome barbarian is so much fun!

Given that I was able to jump in The Witcher from the third entry and it was still one of the richest narrative experiences I’ve had in a videogame since KOTOR, I can forgive the auxiliary material. Thanks, I guess I’ve got another series to work through!

Captain Mongo (reference to Blazing Saddles.)

I’ll pick this one up for sure, but do you have any recommendations for others in the series? I like to get physical copies and thems ain’t cheap.

Ohhhh boy, I gotta do this too. I finished the first and made a decent start in the second. I really gotta finish that up.

Tonight I’m running the first real (non-tutorial) Shadowrun mission for our group. Tabletop, so not really a video game but close enough for the purposes.

Too much water?

Fahey, this question was CLEARLY not for the Snacktaku.

You kidding me? The English VAs were some of the best in recent memory. At least, the main characters were. Noct especially deserves an award for his work.

Awesome! I do 25 every morning before I do almost anything else (maybe some light internet browsing, which I really ought not to do). It’s great for discipline, and since I’m a scrawny college guy it helps to even build that little bit of muscle mass and keep me in shape to do other activities.

Tee hee

I beat the story once and am working on the endgame. I’m definitely holding off on a NG+ until much more content and QOL patches are released. I think it’ll be cool to see how it evolves over time.

I’m waiting to do a NG+ if that helps. I figure it’ll be more rewarding to let the game sit for a few months and get through some of my backlog and then see how much it’s changed after a year of updates and DLC.
