I love how this influx of FFVI articles is happening alongside my playthrough of VI. I’ve almost beaten it! I’m at the end with the sidequests, just found my last party member, and am just finding the fun items and sidequests/power leveling before I finish. It’s been fun.

Reddit has said that if you hold the walk button (square on PS4 I believe) while you interact, it makes it much better. I haven’t begun playing yet, but most people have reported success with that trick.

While other games (VI, cough) were empirically better, I think I liked VIII a lot more. It’s got something going for it that I can’t quite place. I love Squall’s arc, the music is phenomenal, and the combat is probably the best ATB ever got.

Yeah, that scene was corny as hell and it’s still one of my favorite moments in gaming to this day.
