Shitty Take,
Shitty Take,
“Game 2 saw Houston move away from their signature style of depressing isolation...” — according to ESPN, they actually ran almost the exact same number of isolation plays as in Game 1, which according to their data bureau was the most any team has run in any game in five years.
“As well as Houston played, the Warriors seemed affected by the team boredom that occasionally showed up in the regular season”
Fuck this take. This is the fucking Western Conference finals and that’s a lazy as shit take.
How are the Rockets “desperate”? Because they lost game 1, and there’s a built-up narrative about the unbeatability of the Warriors? Everyone wants to talk about how shit “resets” in the post-season, but it’s worth remembering that the Rockets won their season series with the Warriors 2-1. They are far from…
Desperate? Really? After one loss?
Calling a very good team recovering after a listless Game 1 desperate is some creative narrative control.
The Rockets are always fun to watch when they’re clicking, which is most of the time: dominating everyone and being super short but having it not matter because they’re playing 3 steps ahead. It tickles my sport prostate.
‘As well as Houston played, the Warriors seemed affected by the team boredom that occasionally showed up in the regular season.’
“It was actually fun to watch”
This is such a ridiculously bad take. The Rockets played like this for much of the regular season also. And in what world would the Warriors be “bored” about the opportunity to essentially end the series?
I want a gif of Brady not catching that pass to loop for eternity. I want to frame it and hang it in my bedroom so it can be the first and last thing I see each day so I can start and finish each day with a big ol’ smile.
Today, you became American
I love hearing commentators say “Well, you can call holding on every play”. Then on a third and nineteen I clearly see holding. I scream “holding for fuck-sake” just as the Pats pickup the first down. Refs can’t see everything. I get it. But fuck, I saw it.
Yeah, like how a fan base can fervently believe that NO ONE BELIEVES IN US and EVERYONE DISRESPECTS US despite winning five super bowls.
For me it’s more like watching the Honky Tonk Man, in that both he and his manager are blatantly cheating and NOBODY IS DOING ANYTHING TO STOP THEM no matter how much I yell at my TV.
And the fact is, Brady is going to get PI/Holding calls and Bortles is not. It’s not fair. But Rodgers, Big Ben and Brees would have the same advantage.
The Patriots are the walking embodiment of the “All Lives Matter,” mendacity of American society. Man this sucks.
I just dont understand how there is NEVER a holding call against the Patriots O-line. I’ve never seen one in 16 years watching them.
Yeah, cause no team has ever talked up beating the Pats and then done it, except for the 2010 jets, and Plaxico before Super Bowl XLII, even giving a score 21-17, that was somehow generous to the Patriots offense.
