I’m not gonna victim blame oh wait no I am I’m just gonna do it subtly.

For months now, Wilde has denied rumors of tension and acrimony between her and Pugh, while Pugh has remained pointedly very quiet about everything.

I’ve been reading news about this movie for weeks...?.... months...? Seems like forever. I realized something kinda shocking today.

I’ve always gotten the impression that Depp smells bad. Like, nothing about him has ever struck me as a man who has deep, personal ties to hygiene.

“I’m not just the potential victim of Johnny Depp, He’s also my client!”

One of the most insidious things about this “forgiveness” lesson that is so common on the Right -- it’s not forgiveness, it’s an erasure of accountability. Forgiveness means I agree to move forward from this infraction against me, it does not mean the other person doesn’t have to suffer any kind of punishment or

“The “girl talk” went first and consisted of three speakers, one of whom discussed the importance of forgiving a rapist or abuser.”

Except, of course, that no High School anywhere in the United States has pushed CRT.

Goes to haunted house. Last room is a just a tent with benches.

I don’t know what everyone is getting upset about. At least they didn’t cover anything offensive like the concept of white privilege, systemic racism, The U.S.’s slavery-infused history, or police brutality. It was just about forgiveness and love... and... pushup contests.......?

What if they are both awful? And what if Jezebel actually started talking about stuff important to a woman’s journey?

As a demonstrably mediocre man, I was offended by this:

My ex cheated on me, and I never said a word about the woman he cheated me with UNTIL she inserted herself into my life. About 2 months after I found out, she messaged me and demanded that I sign the divorce papers. So I blame my ex 100% for stepping out, but I have also talked a lot of shit about the other woman

Setting aside how fucking stupid this argument is, the “I didn’t do [x] because I was too busy doing/being [slightly worse than x] instead” has always been a weird gambit for me. Every time I have seen someone try it, it blows up one way or another.

Say it with me:  voluntary intoxication is not a defense.

This is a great argument, because alcohol has never contributed to domestic abuse (or violence in general) in any way. Fuck off, Camille.

“He’s either drunk and high and incapable of even standing up, or he’s drunk and high and able to attack her, chase her, land blows? It just doesn’t make sense.”

“He’s either drunk and high and incapable of even standing up, or he’s drunk and high and able to attack her, chase her, land blows? It just doesn’t make sense.”

Just don’t judge whatever a victim’s family says, okay? Their 18 year old daughter/sister was strangled to death and some white lady journalist made it the world’s entertainment. Imagine being put through that. It’s a lot to expect them to be super-rational about it all. Also not clear what the rational interpretation

them declaring their preference that a potentially innocent man stay in prison, than for there to be no one in prison for this.
