It also sometimes is hard to define what “stakes” end up being in Indiana Jones, considering the events of Raiders would’ve happened with or with (it’s not the destination, honey, it’s the journey.). The artifact of each movie is more or less a MacGuffin that pulls Indiana along his own personal journey and I feel

The third act is batshit....but since I’m not just a big-time lover of Temple of Doom but place it close to Raiders, I’m A-OK with heavy doses of batshit in my Indiana Jones.

The developers only gave us the button combination for one Fatality and you had to spend in-game currency in the Krypt to purchase the second

Well, yeah, at this point ATLA fans are used to bad games. Even Platinum made a terrible Korra game!

It’d be a better gaming community if some people could remove their dick from their anime body pillows and maybe touch a little grass on occasion. It’s nice and soft (the grass, I mean), I swear, it’s a healthy thing to do on occasion!

YES! Rooted for Brosnahan from the beginning, she'll be perfect

“I THINK TOM NOOK GONNA SUE SOMEBODY!”

FYI, Capaldi was in “The Suicide Squad”

This is fine. The rare mobile game I do play regularly is Golf Clash, but I’m always rolling my eyes when I get matched with an opponent from a clan called “Trump Is God” or “NeoTERFMasters” (ok, half a point for clever stupidity)

Yeah, “Avatar” is the kind of movie where my parents can go watch it without texting “Do I need to see anything before it?” (although my mom is a nerd and usually has seen the prerequisite comic book movies)

It won’t even kill Marvel Studios. Yeah, they wish it did better, but they have far bigger fish to fry on their slate than “The one with Paul Rudd in it”

And that you didn’t even need heavy doses of Stark to make his presence felt, to the point RDJ’s role in Spider-Man Homecoming feels overblown by MCU cynics (“OMG HE TAKES OVER SPIDER-MAN’S MOVIE” yada yada), when in fact, he’s only in four quick scenes, and small enough that RDJ filmed them in three

DeSaster just throwing everything at the wall as he becomes this cycle's JEB!

Yep, you get the gist rather quick even if you’ve never seen Top Gun. Heck, it even opens with the same title card/explanation as the original movie!

Natasia Demetriou is Wingnut

You’re correct, it’s not one silver bullet, it went down in a hail of equally effective box-office-reasons bullets.

The movie guy at Forbes wrote a bunch of articles in between Avatar movies reflecting on it, surmising that it not having this big connected universe or endless pop culture presence was a strength, not a weakness (as so many io9/AVC commentators believed). He had an analogy that I thought was perfect; if the MCU et al

The box office has returned to a level where mid budget films can find a foothold again; Where the Crawdads Sing was a female-demo-only sleeper hit last year, the kind that industry trades had talked up would disappear post-pandemic if it was a truly AAA-or-indie film landscape.

I was surprised how much I enjoyed it, although I wished for more Sasha Calle.

Which is funny because that shouldve been the lesson learned ages ago with Universal’s Dark Universe.
