Forearm crutch user here! I surprised myself yesterday by being absolutely thrilled to have the wheelchair I want approved by insurance - super lightweight with an optional power assistance add-on that works via bluetooth - because at this point I’m just excited about things that make life easier and more accessible!

I organized by color several years ago because I developed a neurodegenerative disease that impacts information processing and memory and I found that I could remember the color of a book better than the title. I thought organizing by color was the most horrible thing until it helped me find the book I was looking

Totally terrible disease, totally awesome Selma. Agreed. I often tense up when people say things about it ruining lives because it takes a lot of work to keep from feeling that way myself, and self is a hard concept when it comes to a neurological autoimmune disease.

I appreciate your love and concern for your former MIL and her experience with MS, but it is a real bummer for me to read that my life (MS diagnosis, cane user, decreased vision, numb or in pain much of the time) isn’t something you’d wish on your worst enemy. Bless you for sharing sheepdog pictures. I grew up with a sheepdog and loved that sweet and silly dummy soooooo much. He would get so excited about romping around in the snow for about five minutes before he got tired and just wanted to focus on herding my siblings and me.
