Ah yeah he did. Combined that with the Golden State reference and I’m realizing this show is the true crime version of when a Marvel film references an obscure character.

Oh, I absolutely devoured this series. I read, and then bought every single book. When Ann M. Martin came to town for a book signing, I begged my mom to go. Ann autographed the most recent book (this was probably 1995, 1996...I think it was #100 because it had a silvery cover, and why else would Ann be out doing book…
Uh oh. Someone was just rejected by yet another woman and is pretty damn angry about it.
Take the apartment, Diane.
I’ve been saying the kids would be the ones to murder Mary Louise since this season started and I was thinking it would be the murder twins but now I’m wondering if it will be all of them together, in a pint sized mirroring of Perry’s death last season.
Over-enunciating is a common tactic trans women use to make sure their voices don’t get them clocked, though. It feels like a performance, because, in a way, it is: it’s carefully crafted over-enunciation. Elektra sounds like a lot of my trans femme friends. I’ve heard a lot of people criticize Elektra’s delivery, but…
I feel like the show still struggles with giving Elektra the right dialogue sometimes. While they’re campy and funny, her lines feel like they belong in a different TV universe, and land weirdly while characters like Blanca and Angel talk like normal people.
Yes, the vanguard of colonization can be an ugly place to be.
What I learned from this episode is that Fillmore-Graves soldiers need helmets that cover their whole forehead.
Damn, people are much better at remembering characters and their names than I am. I have no idea who most of the people are that everyone’s talking about.
But how great was Alexis Bledel walking through the hospital though? I feel like if Emily’s escape and arrival had been longer it would have been too much, but I’m way more interested in her than June at the moment.
She’d probably tell Nicole Kidman’s character “He was under a lot of stress travelling and working hard to provide luxuries for his family. I’m not saying it’s your fault my son beat you up, but ....” and then in so many words make it crystal clear she does think it was her fault!
I’m calling it. Potential spoiler:
Sueretta, lamb, if you’re reading this, YOU LOOK CUTE. Follow Virgie Tovar on Instagram. Embrace your crop top. Block out the haters. Live your life.
Late to the party, but I’m just here to say that it’s OK to include stuff from 1990 in your ‘80s throwbacks. The ‘80s didn’t really die until Nevermind dropped in September of 1991 and the corpse didn’t stop twitching until mid to late 1992.
I think I am already a few seasons behind (I never finished the one on the island) but I have to jump into this right away. Archer has its flaws but it will always be a favorite of mine because it’s such a gloriously dumb, lowbrow cartoon made by really smart people.
They should really try to get Sesame Street to lend them “The Count” for a minute or two. “Ah, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha ha! Two, two minutes.”
I don’t doubt that colorism plays a part but I think it goes further. Yvie is literally the only black queen that stood out from the beginning because shes the only one not doing either traditional southern pageant or banjie girl drag. Not saying that those drag styles are bad, its just nice to finally see a black…
