I feel like I’ve been in different categories over time. In high school, was definitely anxious/avoidant. My early relationships, I was anxious (aka overly clingy). And now I feel somewhere between avoidant and secure, depending on the day.

As a dude, I agree, this is some bullshit. And I’m not just saying that so you don’t sever my hands.

I usually put a Let’s Play video on my laptop with the video off as I go to sleep. Protip: avoid excitable streamers who are prone to terrified screams.

First song I hit shuffling playlist: “Call Me Maybe” (#21). I thought Nick had just punked me. Was pretty sure I was gonna hit next and hear “Friday”.

I really enjoyed this book as an intro to meditation. The focus on the non-spiritual aspects of meditation were exactly what I needed to hear. And honestly, I’ve found that practicing it (5-10 minutes a few days a week) nearly always improves my mental state. The “10% happier” idea is a good way to put it - it’s not

Huh - I’ve never had one like that. So you have to put in 24% of your salary to get a 6% match?

You’ll never beat the match - it’s an immediate 100% return. No way the market is beating that.

My college dream goes like this: I’m in a lecture room taking a final exam for a course that I forgot I registered for (but for some reason I still have to take the test?). I try to read the questions on the test, but they are complete nonsense. Something like: “What is the green train 12 km is going to where the

I thought it was cream cheese at first, which would be even worse.

Just made some! I tried subbing garlic ginger paste for the pickled ginger, but the taste of raw garlic and ginger was a bit too harsh. Stir fried the noodles for a few minutes to crisp them up and mellow out the flavor - tasted awesome!

In my area, it’s going to add like $100-$200/month. I know because my mortgage and income are very similar to the numbers quoted. Not going to make or break a family to have $4300/month to spend vs $4100.

Doesn’t sound that crazy to me. $120k/year is around ~$6k/month after taxes, insurance, and 6% saved into 401k in my area.

Yep. When I first started writing, I would write a few paragraphs and think “this is garbage, this reads nothing like a real novel”. I’ve come to realize that’s okay. A lot of magic happens during rewrites and revision. But the first draft has to exist before you get to that point.

What were they thinking when they came up with the name “Sinemia”? The first three words which come to mind when I read that are: sinful, enema, anemia. Fourth place is “Cinema”.

Oh suuuure. Just “don’t commit treason”. Look at this guy with his superhuman ability to not leak classified information.

Sounds like big hotel chains flexing their muscles to mess with smaller AirBnB renters who are probably cutting into their profits.

Being hungry at work is the worst because there’s not much I can do about it except hit the vending machines.

Which is roughly $18/hour. This means that the average renting family must spend ~37% of their income if they want a two-bedroom apartment. If they settle for an average 1-bedroom apartment, they’re only spending ~30% of their income, as recommended.

You need $22/hour to afford an “average” 2-bedroom apartment. Incidentally, the median household income is $59,000, which works out to ~$28/hour.
