Yeah, I think it came out in February or so for PC, but it hasn’t hit the Switch yet as far as I can tell. Googling reveals that it was submitted to Nintendo for approval a few months ago, but hasn’t emerged from the other end of that tunnel yet:

Just about to dive back in for another few (in-game and real-life) hours of 428 Shibuya Scramble. Nothing particularly new to say about it right now, except that things are getting (even more) interesting as I transition into the second half of the game... I wanted to at least post another screenshot, since those are

The goose game is coming out! OMGoose! I kind of just spent my games budget for the month on the original Phoenix Wright series for the Switch, plus Human Fall Flat for my son and a few other random games... but for this I will most certainly make an exception.

The hamster is an inventory item, not a character :)  And Ben Franklin is just too much of a spluttering old comedy trope, I found him annoying.

Heh, talking about the playable characters. Weird Ed, OK. But I haven’t played Maniac Mansion (although I could do so right there on the PC in his office... !) so I don’t know Ed’s back story other than the few hints he drops in this game.

Thanks, man, much appreciated food for thought. And as for Telling Lies (the game ;), your explanation of the time codes and the Obra Dinn comparison make it a lot clearer. So thanks for that too!

Same old games as for the past few weeks, which is why I haven’t been posting here much:

Thanks! Telling Lies looks interesting, although I have read a fair number of complaints about the thing where you sit there watching your chosen person in silence for half of every conversation. Once you find both halves of a conversation(and identify them as fitting together, I guess), do you get to play them in

I remember being annoyed by the bounce-pads in Hollow Knight for much the same reason, so I’ll second your proposition before the grand international committee of game design.

“A compliment! Scanning for sarcasm... It’s clean!

Agreed with @fcz1 — it took me a long time before I started playing the Switch in handheld mode, because that was my attitude as well. But eventually I started finding moments (and particular games) when it seemed like a better idea, and now I use a healthy mix of both modes (still mostly TV+couch mode, though).

Yeah, I also love the 3D effect (even though it seems to work better and worse at different times for no obvious reason) and kept the slider to the max except when my son wanted to watch me play, since the 3D effect only works from directly in front of the screen.

I think I’m fine without an Odyssey DLC — the postgame content that’s already in there looks like more than enough for me! And yeah, 3D Land was definitely a tiny little toy game compared to Odyssey, but still great fun for what it is. There’s still plenty of variation in there with different level and enemy types

Congrats! I have struggled so much to get through Yakuza 0 that I can’t imagine taking on another game from that franchise, as fun as Yakuza 0 could be at times. Good on you for sticking it out.

Hmm, Planescape: Torment. It was our 50th Game Revue Club game back in 2017, so I played a couple of hours then, but that was barely enough to get out into town and start seeing the world outside the mortuary. To that point, my take on it was that the clumsy interface (including but not limited to combat) outweighed

Oh, Boxboy + Boxgirl looks fun too. I have been trying to stick to my backlog as much as possible without getting new games, but then again I am definitely tempted to finally start checking out more indies on the Switch... Thanks for the reference!

Yeah, it’s really awesome. With the “capture” mechanic, you wind up with so many different ways to move around and explore the maps, and every area is perfectly designed to make use of the different possibilities. Plus, there’s always something cool (moons, the purple “local currency” coins, etc.) to reward you for

Sounds pretty cool. I really have to try KOTOR again, after a failed attempt back in Windows 7 days— I got to the start of the first “real” mission but my laptop just couldn’t handle something about the compatibility with this very old game and it kept glitching out. Thanks for the reminder, I have heard lots of cool
