I actually liked Thimbleweed Park pretty well— it didn’t seem as nasty with the puzzle design as Sam and Max or (in my opinion) Day of the Tentacle. There was only one puzzle that really got me mad (involving the real estate guy and the phone). Of course, I was totally willing to ignore the whole issue of how the

Yeah, the various super-guards are tough. I just screwed up a “daily challenge” mission because one of the Jammers shut down all gadgets in the first area, and of course my whole strategy was about gadgets.

Now playing

This weekend I will probably be continuing to mess around (and slowly progress) in Heat Signature. I just got back into it after several months off, so the first few missions I took were ones I was sure I could handle, but I’m starting to get back to where I dare to take missions that are kind of scary. I finished off

What Have You Finished This Week?

Hey, if you’re feeling adventure-y, Unforeseen Incidents is worth checking out. And congrats on the S+ rank and rocket launcher!

Today and through the rest of the week, I expect to keep forging ahead with Mass Effect: Andromeda. It’s been a bit of a roller coaster these past couple of weeks, where I went from huge excitement over seeing the galaxy open up before me after the first few hours, to increasing familiarity with and enjoyment of the

Wow, thanks for waiting (that 1 a.m. posting time is hard for me to hit!). Just put up my What Have You Finished post— I’d love to hear your thoughts on God of War!

What Have You Finished This Week?

Wow, S+ rank? With a “plus”? That’s even a thing? I once decided I was going to get a “mere” A+ rank on all the levels in Hotline Miami (which I think is a comparatively smaller game than RE2), and I gave up with a quickness when I realized how much detailed analysis and planning and trial and error it was going to

Still on Mass Effect: Andromeda. (POSSIBLE MILD SPOILERS TO FOLLOW) Havarl is now my third planet to reach 100% viability, and I’ve brought Kadara (the “exile planet”) up to about 50%, but apparently that world is going to be less about monoliths and vaults, and more about stomping out drug smuggler gangs and the

What Have You Finished This Week?

I could see that. It took me half of the game (so, 5 hours or so) to get to the point where I felt I was enjoying it, and even then my reactions continued to be a bit mixed.

Awesome, I’m looking forward to it. Thanks for the morale boost!

Ugh, Binding of Isaac. I actually do kind of enjoy playing this game but I never even beat Mom, so the prospect of ever actually getting to the end seems really unlikely. It’s still listed on my official backlog though, so maybe I’ll throw myself against its mound of shit and internal organs again sometime in the next

What Have You Finished This Week?

Sweet, thanks man.

Stardew Valley is on my wishlist and I now understand that I had better damn well not buy it until I have the upper hand on my current backlog (probably sometime in 2020). Thank you. 8^P

Hey, that sounds like me against the final boss ship in FTL! Good idea to take a break. You’ll manage it eventually.

It’s funny, not only is Sexy Brutale our discussion game this time out, but it also happens that my dad and brother and I are all playing it at the same time too, so I’ve got a little side group going on there too. It’s funny, sometimes games just seem to suddenly have a minor comeback for no discernible reason, or

Oh cool, I don’t watch a ton of TV so I had no idea that existed. What platform/network/whatever was that on?
