Mark of the Ninja is a really, really great game, even if you’re not especially good at stealth — as I am not, or in any case definitely wasn’t when I played it. Not sure if I need a “remastered” version (what’s wrong with the original, again?), especially since I still have a New Game+ or two to play on the copy I’ve

This weekend, maybe even today, I hope to finally get through the final colossus in Shadow of the Colossus (2005), but... I’m not sure whether I’ll be able to do it. At least as much any of the others, this final boss is as much of an exercise in fighting the slightly gimpy controls and utterly nightmarish camera as

Yeah, I do go back and forth on the grindy aspect. It helps that the missions are “modular”, as you say, and then I find the gameplay so fun (provided I am not losing too badly) that even a boring easy mission intended solely to build up the B- or C-team is actually pretty enjoyable.

Hey, not everyone likes every kind of game. But just out of curiosity, what is the “purpose” of your favorite game?

That game needs to exist. In the same universe as Shower With Your Dad Simulator, perhaps?

I’ve been casting about in my mind for a Halloween game (not that into hardcore horror, and I am not sure I want to replay INSIDE, Little Nightmares, Oxenfree or Alan Wake within just a year or so of the last go-round). Now you’ve put Darkest Dungeon on that list, and I thank you. I got about a few in-game months into

Haven’t actually gotten more than 6-7 hours into Skyrim ever, but I do have it on PC, so sure, noted. I am in a bit more of an open-world mode just now, so this is sort of tempting.

Ugh, have we heard the phrase, “too on-the-nose”, people? Do you get to shoot this guy prominently in/on the nose?

Super psyched for this from the first review I saw (because, c’mon, Lucas Pope!) and every comment I see on it makes it more enticing.

Hmm, I picked up a used copy of the first RDR for PS3 some time ago and it has just been staring at me from the game shelf since then (next to GTA V, Dark Souls, Uncharted 2 and a few others that I don’t really have that much couch availability for these days). I have definitely been thinking about trying to check

Thanks for this, very helpful insights. I am not a big modder anyway, but I haven’t been hearing good things about this. I’ll just play regular New Vegas with all that DLC that I still have never gotten around to.

What Have You Finished This Week?

Coming to the party a bit late today. I have been super busy with trying to build an indoor coop for our chickens (inside of our garage) before it gets ridiculously cold outside, and the process is a lot slower/more exhausting for someone like me who has zero experience building anything. Oh and also I have a job that

Being so punk and all, I’m surprised she didn’t call up Kathleen Hanna.

I would like this comment but it is currently at 666 likes so I don’t want to break the spell/curse. Bravo.

Noted, thanks. Quite by accident, I stumbled into that Damnd Yanki side quest you mentioned in the Steam group, and yeah, it’s tiny and pointless but really funny as well. The first guy can’t quite muster up the strength to be impolite, let alone fully punk: “Oh, I’m very sorry, sir... You fucking asshole! That is...

Still a decent game, though. If you can get it at a reasonable price (list price is $20 US), I would recommend it. Even if it has better ideas than execution as a whole, at least the first half or so is definitely a very worthwhile experience.

So you’re more of an audio-log fan, then?  ;)

Oh man, I started a bunch of games on the Switch (notably Mario+Rabbids, Odyssey, a bit of Splatoon 2 and of course Breath of the Wild) but my Steam/PC backlog has been getting all the attention. The Switch stuff is all such lighthearted but amazingly deep fun, though, gotta get back to it.

Damn it, I skipped most of that to avoid spoilers, but now I’ll have Witcher 3 starting at me from my Steam collection and nagging at me as a strong candidate for my next big (huge!) backlog game. I’d better try a smaller one first...
