Yeah this is pretty clearly a statistical outlier, not indicative of some trend.

I’m not sure this is quite the epidemic it seems like. The two biggest events account for 86% and the top three account for 95% of that loss.  This just seems like a jump in the size of the incidents, not the frequency of them.
