I honestly didn’t realize it until this post, but... 1994, at at least the few years around it, may just be my favorite automotive era. The 1st Ram, the Jeep GC, the impending Viper GTS, etc. So much of my current love far cars was shaped with those cars and their contemporaries. What a time to have been 12, obsessing

Agreed, though it’s likely only LT+ making the cut, not even a standard Super Series/720. Dubai is a wild place.

For what is effectively the new Sport Series? Doubtful these are making many Dubai collections. Compared to what those guys usually have, this entry level “pleb” spec isn’t likely to make the cut.

Plenty of this car’s design is... uh... debatable, but I wouldn’t give credit for the split headlights to others. I recall the 7th Gen Phantom had the headlights below the turn signals (though the shape implied the opposite arrangement). If memory serves, that car launched circa 2003 under the BMW umbrella. So this

Probably true on some that put it up high for the sake of putting it up high. Wouldn’t surprise me if some run it low and then snake it back up, in which case you’re 100% right. I can say that on my 675 it’s pretty damn direct, straight, and short. Shockingly so. So, only if done right and for the right reasons, I

It’s all subjective, but I like it on exotics. Beyond aesthetics, for rear-mid cars it allows for a shorter exhaust path and more aggressive rear diffusor as well.

675LT for the upshift “whip crack.” It’s not the best sounding car revving in neutral, but under load it’s starts to sing and that whip crack on the upshift is straight giggle inducing.

Living in N. Dallas one sees quite a few Uruses on the road on a daily basis. They’re absolutely horrid looking in the flesh; way too busy and gauche. This Lotus may bear some resemblance to the Urus, but I find it MUCH easier on the eyes. Sadly, it’s the gauche, tacky nature of the Urus’ looks that make it so popular

Agreed; it’s fun to pop the hood or trunk of my GenV (assuming yours is a GenV as well) and see the carbon. It feels like a fun little secret. It’s nice to get the subtle peak of it around the rear glass when looking through the rearview mirror too. I do have the TA1.0 front mini spoilers and deck spoiler which are

Agreed! I’d be pissed if I found out my cars were street parked when in for service. Hell, I have one of my cars flat bedded to service because the roads near it are trash. I’d be heated if they then left it outside (thankfully, they keep it nice and secure indoors).

Oh man, oh man. This is way high on my must buy list if they actually release it. As someone else here noted: it’s like a grown-up WRX. I wouldn’t off-road it, but I’d appreciate the added ground clearance and thicker tire sidewalls over the crap roads here in Dallas. My other fun cars are essentially useless on

I had an EJ20 in my blaze yellow 2002 WRX *checks notes… 20 years ago, Jesus*. I thought it was a gem of a motor, save for some suuuuper minor piston slap on rare very, very cold mornings. The five speed and it’s butter soft synchros (yay needing to double clutch 2-1 after only 20k miles), on the other hand… Absolute

If it’s a “just for fun” car, the manual transmission can certainly bring a level of involvement that is enjoyable. I get that. But I’m with you when it comes to a daily/commuter. Such an unnecessary chore to shift manually.

For daily drivers, I generally agree with the sentiment here. Sometimes a test drive simply isn’t an option, however. And, unfortunately, the likelihood of having to buy without a test drive seems to go up as the value of said vehicle goes up. The three most expensive vehicle purchases I’ve made were done without

I purchased one of the 1st CR-Zs off the boat in the Bay Area back in 2010. I, frankly, loved it. It was the only car I’ve ever owned where I routinely got notably better mileage than advertised and it was a fun little car to jockey around in. It wasn’t fast, by any means, but it had just enough torque grunt to make

The burning sill complaint has always confused me. Is it warm? Yes, hot even. However, the hottest portion of the sill is far forward, near the door hinge (where the cats are). You’re least likely to ever touch this portion. The rest? It can feel pretty hot if you sit on the sill when exiting (as you might do to

It’s always enjoyable when one sentence so concisely sums up with whom one is dealing. “...Dihydrogen Monoxide, is far more deadlier...

Woah! Thank you very much for taking the time to respond. All logical as you’ve laid it out, but very interesting/impressive nonetheless. Comments like your response are what I love about this site. If only I had more stars to give. Thanks dude!

100% agreed, and 14 years ago would have been the GenIV (assuming you were there for the launch of the 2008 and not the end of the GenIII). GenIVs, though making less power than the GenV, still lacked many of the electronic driving aids we now expect and which are present in the GenV. The GenV is a pussycat by

My Viper is the smallest car I own, easily. I think it’s the dimensions that throw people off (long, flat hood and itty bitty cabin/canopy). With no size reference they look big. Park them next to anything else and that illusion goes away. It’s like the 570S vs. the 650S. People called the 570S the small McL but it’s
