Movie-quality-considerations aside, it’s been in the theaters for a little more than a single day (and a day in which a lot of people are going to be traveling, no less), let’s not stick the knife into its ribs just yet.
I only first saw it a year or two ago (I’m not sure I’d even heard of it, but Paul F Tompkins recommended it on some podcast or other, so I tracked it down) and it immediately became one of my favorites. (Aside from all the terrific comedy and the incredible chemistry between Arkin and Falk, I absolutely covet the…
I just bought the whole Justified series (on DVD, because it was a lot cheaper than the Blu Ray, even if the packaging is a lot shittier) even though it’s on Hulu and not that likely to disappear, though you never know.
That’s because Kim Deal is amazing.
Hoult seems to have done too much offbeat work so far (The Great, Fury Road, and The Favourite come to mind) to be Superman. Maybe because of that, yeah, he does have Luthor vibes.
Whew, Scruffy’s back too. I can rest easy.
Yeah, when I read in the article that they changed the name, I went “Aww...”
I’m pretty sure I remember reading something from a writer or director or something (maybe even McQuarrie himself) saying basically that-- that they come up with some boffo set pieces first, and then try to figure out a plot to shoehorn them into. (With varying levels of success.)
Well, you’ll notice the vast majority of articles, and the reactions in them, about “first reactions to [whatever movie]” are nearly entirely rapturous praises, so... yeah you’re probably pretty close to the mark there.

Come back when you’re old enough to cross the street by yourself.
There are no 11 worst episodes, only 11 least-best.
Shia LeBoeuf plays a sardine?
Some of these are probably like a week’s worth of work, for that big-star paycheck (that can then be put towards redoing the kitchen or whatever). Why wouldn’t he take a role like that?
He was a very very small part of Newsradio, but even there he was a delight.
I doubt very much DeSantis would agree or Trump would ask. I get the feeling Trump genuinely loathes DeSantis, mostly merely because he views DeSantis as ‘disloyal’ (that seems to be the thing Trump hates most in other people, regardless of how disloyal he is towards them). I don’t think Trump would put that aside for…
