That’s why I’m holding off, my Mazda will hopefully run for a few more years by then electric cars will be further along and I will have solar panels on my garage for cost free driving.

I was with a friend that bought a new car and I haven’t shopped for a car in while, his economy car (fully loaded mind you) was $33K out the door, I was surprised. No wonder SUVs are $50K plus.

nice, you are doing the right thing, if you can, find a 4th gen sonata, they are fairly reliable and can be had for cheap, I’ve even seen some 5 gens at the 5-6K range.

Whenwhen I had a car payment it was 300 a month, Insurance was 120 a month, and gas was roughly 200 a month I do a lot of driving.  So I was about roughly 10% of my gross . my car is paid off now thankfully so it’s really just maintenance gas and insurance .
