I just watched this on your recommendation. What a great movie. Loved the history of how this couple got into the biz. Making dialysis machine’s to gay porn producers. It’s sad that the Mason family business had to close, but with the advent of the internet, a lot of businesses had to shutter sadly. But at least they

Yeah. I broke my hip a few years ago, and let’s just the pain was VERY intense. If Madonna’s hip truly were broken she wouldn’t be sitting in front of a typewriter making videos. She’s in pain because she has put her body through hell for over 40 years.

There certainly was an indication that there is some sort of caste system in place to keep people down. That is a dystopia. Caleb wants to get a better job, but even though he is qualified, he doesn’t have the “right fit” decided by the AI. So he is stuck in his place.

Of course he want’s to run again. He saw that Mayor Pete’s orientation wasn’t all that big a deal, so he opened the closet door. Now the GOP gets their token gay, and they can say “See! We have a gay friend, so we can’t be homophobes.”

Excellent point. But I think your last one is most important. This is a very bad look for Elle. People in the publishing world might understand the million reasons why someone is let go. But all the average reader is going to know is that a writer who accused the President of rape lost her job. Very bad optics for the

Yeah, she was surprisingly funny in Good News. She was also pretty good in Grace and Frankie.

I read the book and loved it. The movie kind of baffled me on first viewing, but I was drawn to watch it again, and I got a better appreciation for the film. As for a TV series, they would definitely need to stick closer to the book, if that is even possible. But I think alien dogs in human skin suits treating humans

Yeah, I enjoyed it too. Just a fun show to watch.

I’m just going to throw this out there. On Netflix they are airing the US version of the UK show The Circle. It’s a reality show that is a cross between Big Brother and Catfish. None of the players meet each other in person, but “online” where they can be whomever they want to be. I am halfway though the UK version

Well, another accuser died yesterday by suicide. Ex husband of the Princess of Norway said Spacey groped him at some Nobel thing a few years ago. Now he is dead. So that makes THREE of Spacey’s accusers dead. Hmmm.

That’s really nice. I hope she stays that way, which is really hard to do when surrounded by people telling you what you want to hear.

I enjoyed this season, and Lizzy Caplan was fantastic as Annie Wilkes. The body snatcher story started interesting, but just completely petered out in the end. And we never even got to see the town in the aftermath of all this. But as you said, this was really Annie’s story, and that was a good one.

I was as surprised as you were at the exclusion of this great show.

Maybe it’s a Scottish/British thing, but my family has chip sandwiches for years. I haven’t made one in long time, but it was a quick and easy snack when we were kids.

If I remember correctly, the TV movie the series was based upon seemed pretty scary for me. Even the 90s reboot with Malcolm McDowell had dark undertones, So this trailer seems pretty on brand.

I so agree. Caplan is amazing as Wilkes. Though I always wondered why people considered her a villian since the character is obviously mentally unstable and can’t really help herself. Anyway, Caplan is so good in this role.

This is promising. I liked the book but was wondering what approach a film would take. Good to hear that it sounds like Mike Flanagan pulled it off.

There is another connection that was missed in the article, A small one, but still. When Annie is going through her psychotic episode, she tells Joy about her father (or perhaps Ace Merrill), and she says “sometimes they come back”. That’s the title of a King short story.

I have to say I am really enjoying this show, so great news about the renewal.

So, I’m guessing this one is going to involve Mags, the older lady in the second book, and the games she played in and won?
